Book Reviews of Pajama Time!Book Review: A must have for any child's home library Summary: 5 Stars
I often give books as a baby shower gift, and this one is always on the list. My grandchildren love it from birth through the early school years. Now the older ones are reading it to the younger ones! The rhymes and pictures are just so cute and babies can begin to learn words and will start to point to the pictures as they learn the rhyme and know what is coming next. A must have in any children's book collection, and buy an extra one to keep at the grandparents home for those spend the night parties!!
Book Review: Jamma Jamma Jamma! Summary: 5 Stars
We read this to my (now 17 month old) daughter every night before bed. I LOVE the part that says "turn out the light" because we have a light above our bed, and that part signals that it's time for her to go to sleep. I've read that some people don't find it easy to sing, but I've had no problems. My daughter calls it "jamma jamma jamma" (a line from the book) She loves it! Since we started reading this to her about 2 months ago, she has gone to sleep a LOT easier at night.
Book Review: dancin' the pajamma time away Summary: 5 Stars
One of our favorite Boynton books (and we DO love them ALL) We have read it almost every night since my 2 year old nephew was born. Now, he sits in our lap as we bounce him to the left, bounce him to the right!
This book is also a great way to teach children that our voices can be loud and soft, and a kind way to teach the meaning of "hush, hush!" Like other Boynton books, it has a nice rhythm, and you can turn your nightly reading into a sing along!
Book Review: Just not up to the Boyton Standard Summary: 1 Stars
Sorry to be negative, but this book just didn't rate with me. We have every other Boyton book (through Amazon, I might add), but this one had no substance. It contained none of the cleverness of the Going to Bed Book, the fun of Barnyard Dance, or educational elements of Hippos Go Berserk. Classics such as these undoubtedly set high expectations, but I found this one to be a brand extension one step too far. There are lots of other more worthy alternatives.
Book Review: Book-crazy 2 year old's current fave! Summary: 5 Stars
If you have to read a book over and over like I do to my 2 year old, this is THE book! We both love to sing and dance along with the animals and it has added an interesting twist to choosing her pjs each night. We have only had the book a few weeks, but she already has most of it memorized and reads along with me. My husband loves the book too and does a great rap song rendition which really cracks my daughter up. A lot of fun. I highly recommend.
