Book Review: A President to Be Ashamed Of
Summary: 1 Stars

Do Not Waste Your Money Buying This Book!

I cannot believe that President Jimmy Carter is so BLIND in what he thinks to be true regarding Israel. If he had spent a few more years studying his bible and believing what it says instead of listening to his Arabs friends bent on the destruction of Israel, he would not be acting so foolishly.

The land, without a doubt, belongs to Israel. Do a deed search. You will wind up in the book of Genesis reading where the God Almighty gave it to Abraham and his descendants for all eternity. That's right, the original deed holder was the one and ONLY GOD ALMIGHTY Himself.

Along with that gift came a Promise of protection. God said, "I will bless those who bless Israel and I will curse those who curse Israel."

Those words are pretty plain. The God who said those words has wiped out more people from the face of the earth than any man, for those who have sinned against Him. I believe He means what He says.

By the way, God said that long before there were any Arabs. The word Palestine originally referred to Israel and the Jews. Not the Arabs who have spun the story to their benefit.

I don't know why I let this upset me because God has promised his protection to Israel. He doesn't need the USA to do it. But the USA would be blessed for trying instead of all the curses coming our way. God does control the planet. Noticed any violent unnatural weather or other disasters lately? 911, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc? There will be more to come unless we start aiding Israel. Aid and support. Not trying to give away their God given lands.

Book Review: Carter:A Jew's Nightmare and an Anti-Semite's Dream
Summary: 1 Stars

Carter's "solutions" to the middle-east issues are no better than those he produced while in office. He was the worst president of the 20th century because he had little need for reality beyond his little world of America-bashing. He "brokered" a Palestinian-Israeli peace agreement that was doomed from the start, simply because there was no recognition of Israel's national sovereignty by the Palestinian leadership. Arafat had no intention of keeping the peace. He knew that if Palestine finally became a nation, continued aid to a Palestinian nation would be given on condition of a free election; this was anathema to him. He knew that he would be accountable for the potential millions in aid that he intended steal and stash away. The continued slaughter of innocent Israelis by Palestinian "homocide" bombers were accomplished with his approval; it was a great diversion from Palestinians' wretched condition.
Carter still asks many concessions from Israel and few from the Palestinians. His refusal to condemn Palestinian "homicide" bombings is inexcusable; indeed, he justifies them. This is not the credo of a "humanitarian."
Israel has carved a productive, thriving nation from arid, worthless ground. Israeli initiative and hard work are traits lacking in the Palestinians. A Palestinian nation would always be on the dole because the world has labeled its people as victims--and victims they must continue to portray. In doing so, they will always take vengeance on Israelis, a people whom they have been conditioned to blame for their plight. Carter's book just throws oil on the fire.

Book Review: A Refreshing Statement from an American Politician
Summary: 4 Stars

Jimmy Carter's book "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid" is a very refreshing statement when one realizes that virtually no comments of this nature have been uttered previously by an American political figure of this stature. He clearly supports a two state system as a solution for solving the decades old issue of conflict between Palestine and Isreal. His historical timeline is carefully, skillfully and accurately crafted even to the point of exposing the United States as a major factor in the continuation of this struggle, often in devious ways. His stature as a world statesman is significantly enhanced by his bold assertion of both the dangers in continuing present conflicts and the hope that still remains if facts are faced and the "people of the land" on both sides are heard with appropriate response. This is not a book to be treated casually. It is a marvelous product of an unselfish and giving proponent of peace. It is easy to see why so many persons who turn a blind eye to Israel's continued breaking of international law and the United States looking the other way would be enraged.

Book Review: Disgusted
Summary: 2 Stars

As a two-time Emory Univ. grad (undergraduate & law), this man shames me. How could an alleged Christian become so anti-semetic & anti-Israel? People say it is possible to be "anti-Israel" or at least extremely critical of Israel w/o being an anti-semite. If so, I have yet to see such a person. Basically, its a "scratch a Russian, get a Tartar" situation. Always.

In between degrees at Emory, I slipped in an M.A. in History from Vandy. I was really meant to be a professor, but for selfish economic reasons went astray. Nevertheless, my decision has [economically] enabled me to read very widely in history. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Jimmy Carter will go down in history as yet another one of those disappointed office seekers/leaders/politicians etc. who upon rejection by their "own" people, entered into a dangerous flirtation (or worse) with Fascism/Communism/Nazism etc., etc. If he lives long enough, I truly believe he will offer some sort of public support for totalitarianism of some ilk.

Book Review: Truth
Summary: 5 Stars

I have always had my reservations about Jimmy Carter. I did not like his presidency, its legacy nor how he handled the Hijacking towards the end of his presidency.

That said

I found this book to be the best, all around go-to book that explains EVERYTHING concerning Israel, its neighbors and the history of the conflict and how it leads up to today. Carter's bias is little and generally he gives both sides and history a very fair shake, so fair in fact that I have read many inflamatory comments and reviews that he is a Jew hater, israel hater or arab hater. This books sits next to The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy by John J. Mearsheimer and Stephen M. Walt and a few books by Niall Ferguson in my library in my study.

If you want a concise, fair and truely balanced view of what problems exist in the middle east then by all means read this book! He took pains to back every bit that he could with UN resolutions in his appedix.
