Book Reviews of Peek-A Who?

Book Review: Peek-a WHO?
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my daughter at 18 mos based on the reviews. She loves books. This was an instant favorite. From the moment she picks it up she is smiling in anticipation of what is to come. She is now turning 2 this month and still it is her favorite book. She likes to fill in the blank for you when you read it to her. Peek-a...WHO, Peek-a...ZOO!, Peek-a...CHOO-CHOO! etc. This is really a cute book with great illustrations that my daughter likes to point to and discuss. It flows really well and the ending is just perfect, she bursts into laughter EVERY time. Well worth the money, you have to get this for your little one.

Book Review: Definitely worth adding to your collection!

As a first time mom, I have been on what seems to be a never ending quest to find books that keep my 6 month old's attention. He could care less about the beautiful editions of nursery rhymes and fairy tales we received as gifts. This book, on the other hand, was love at first sight. The colors are eye catching and the small size is perfect for little hands. My son loves to turn the pages and can get his fingers around the cut-outs in the pages. The rhymes are cute too and illicit many appreciative "coos" from the baby. The mirror at the end provides endless entertainment. All in all a great buy for the under 1 set!

Book Review: A Favorite First

We began reading Peek-a-Who to our daughter at 3-4 months and it quickly became the one thing that would calm her down -- at least for a few minutes! (Very handy especially when on a plane.) What we noticed is how quickly she came to "expect" the sights and sounds of Peek-a-Who, and how fun it was for her to find herself at the end of the book. I could even say the book to her without either of us seeing the book and she enjoyed the sing-songiness of it. She's almost 11-months-now and prefers the Maisy books but we still all enjoy Peek-a-Who just about every other day. I highly recommend this book for little brains!

Book Review: just okay...

I expected this book to be much better, especially after reading the reviews. But I'm really not impressed at all. Just not a very creative attempt at rhyming. Doesn't really make sense - the rhyming is all "oo" sounds but really the context seems off. And even the owl on the first flap falls flat. The ghost doesn't make sense either. It's a strange combination of being too simple (with basic rhymes) and too complex (really young kids are going to have a hard time grasping "zoo" "boo" ghosts, etc.). If you want a good rhyming and flap book, I'd go with some of the ones from DK Publishing or Baby Enstein's Mirror Me book.

Book Review: First Book to Truly Captivate My baby
Summary: 5 Stars

I've read aloud to my daughter since birth. Starting around 4 months, books became interesting insofar as they were tasty or had a sing-song rhythm. I started reading Peek-a-Who? to her this week (7 months), and my daughter laughs aloud, she's so entertained! She makes me read it again and again, and I think we each have plenty of fun reading this book. The look of suspense on her face is priceless, as is the look of sheer delight when we turn the page to figure out what she's peeking at! This is definitely a book I'm going to be purchasing for other babies/new parents.
