Book Reviews of Playful Parenting

Book Review: Great Book
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this book!!!!!!

I read Unconditional Parenting by Alfie Kohn and loved it, but I felt I needed ideas on alternatives to punishments and rewards because you can't always reason with a 2 year old. This book was just what I needed. It has given me great ideas on handeling situations with my toddler. Instead of things turning into a power struggle we are now being silly and laughing.

Book Review: delightful
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this book. My husband and I have had great fun finding playful ways to solve difficult situations with our 26 month old daughter. Life is so much easier and happier on everyone when we can make our daughter laugh and do what we would like her to do instead of all parties getting angry and frustrated. I would recommend this book to anyone (and have recommended it to everyone I know!)

Book Review: Best Parenting Book Ever
Summary: 5 Stars

I've read lots of books on parenting, and if I had to recommend just one book to anybody it would be this one. I have it on paper and on my kindle, so I can access it anytime.

I have a 2.5 years old son and since I read this book our relationship has improved so much that is unbelievable. We are way closer now and he is a much happier joyful kid, and so am I!!

Book Review: Children need us to play!
Summary: 5 Stars

So many of us have become too caught up in our busy lives to remember that children need to play. This book includes great recommendations and strategies for re-connecting with our children through play. So far, it is helping us with our 4 and 1 year olds--we are finding that using a playful approach is helping us feel better about our relationships with our children.

Book Review: Not what I had hoped
Summary: 3 Stars

This book is a little too "psycho babble" for me. The author gives a lot of explanations by describing moments between himself and his own children that I did not find helpful. I felt like the book could have been only a few pages long and still gotten the same message across. All he really needed to say was, "Play with your children, even during discipline."
