Book Reviews of Playful Parenting

Book Review: A truly excellent book
Summary: 5 Stars

Mr. Cohen brings to light important and practical ways to get closer to your children. This book -- based both on sound research and everyday applications -- will be a great help to any parent who desires closer bonds with their child. After all, parenting should be fun and Cohen teaches the reader how be a thinking and playful companion to a child.

Book Review: Play Connects You, Being Connected Helps
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of just a couple of parenting books that I keep coming back to because its advice not only resonates with my parenting instincts, but offers solutions that work for my family. Playing in the way described in this book, and other ways, helps me stay connected with my child. Being connected makes life together more joyful and easier.

Book Review: Poorly organized, though helpful anecdotal information
Summary: 3 Stars

I felt that better organization would have improved the reading experience. Much skimming was needed to locate information most relevant to my child and I.

Although I agree with much of what the author presents, and have put some ideas into practice, what I read was awfully anecdotal and specific to a select group of children.

Book Review: loved it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved the book and immidiately started applying his ideas of reconnecting with my family, the results were instant and I was amazed to discover that what was meant as play therapy for my daughter became the therapy for me! What a way to lighten up and bring more laughter and creativity in your life!

Book Review: Play and Have Fun!
Summary: 5 Stars

The author shares how he has learned to play with children through raising a daughter and his work as a psychiatrist. It is easy to read with no psycho-babble. He demonstrates how how parenting can be creative and fun for all concerned! He gives adults permission to be silly and make mistakes!
