It's amazing how images and stories can control our thoughts. Have you seen that commercial telling us over and over that pomegranates are an aphrodisiac? They are traditionally in myth the fruit of war as in the story of Demeter and Persephone in Greek myth. Everything that is evil to people who don't know the difference between fantasy and reality is great in deep play. If you like to play myths instead of live them, then do so. It's just that the endless trend is to connect things - say, a book, a commercial, a myth, a product.... to some stupid cruel idea. This is called a trigger - advertisements use it and cultural guides use it. War is not an aphrodisiac. It kills people, including children, animals and women. It's painful and abusive and only good as very last resort for very serious problems. The powers that be would like to trigger our every emotion to war, abuse, slavery and death - especially sex which they feel can sell anything. Not to me it can't. Control your own mind and body or they will.

Having said that, pomegranates are semi-delicious though difficult to eat. The juice is tasty, pic on the cover is beautiful it can't hurt to play with pomegranates if your heart is connected to good stuff and not easily swayed by tricks. I love fruit recipes, fruit is soooo... lovely an experience to eat. Sweet and sour, texture, taste, color.... endlessly good. Every time I eat pomegranates I have trouble with the seeds.... they are difficult fruit to eat, but juice or tea recipes are so tasty makes them worth it.
