Book Reviews of Posture AlignmentBook Review: The importance of posture Summary: 5 Stars
Excellent book about the importance of posture and muscle and joint alignment in keeping our bodies functioning without pain. Simple ways to ananlyze your own posture with clear exercise menu to correct it. Very easy to read, but full of very important concepts. I think it should be required reading at all medical, physical therapy schools. My only criticism is that although the author gives credit to Pete Egoscue in the introduction, he borrows an awful lot from the Egoscue books and method, which in turn borrows a lot form Yoga postures. Of course body positions can't be patented or copyrighted.
Book Review: A great, useful book Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great book, with clear instructions on how to improve your posture and overall health. The menus at the back range from 5 minutes to over 40, so you can fit this into any schedule. I also like the positive attitude of the author; he says over and over that just doing a little bit can help. I think this is a very usable book, with nice clear instructions. My only complaint is that he spends a lot of time convincing you how necessary this is. But, once I got the point, I skipped ahead to the part where he tells you what to do, so it wasn't a big deal.
Book Review: Most useful book! Summary: 5 Stars
The numerous physicians and chiropractor I've seen never clarified why there has been a nagging pain in my right knee (and they also failed to cure it), yet this book answered my question: yep, it is misaligned! The self diagnosis is easy to do and the exercises helpful: in just 2 weeks I've seen a lot of improvement on my shoulder/back pain and hopefully the knee pain will go away soon! Now I notice lots of people have posture/alignment problems but almost no health care provider pays any attention to it. This book is truly wonderful!
Book Review: change your life! Summary: 5 Stars
This book is excellent. It provides a foundation for thinking about health in a new way. I felt an immediate difference, and these exercises removed pain I was having in my low back / Sacro-iliac joint. This book accomplished what years of going to chiropractors and doctors did not. It will empower you. Try this basic, simple approach if you suffer from back, shoulder, or neck pain. It makes sense and it is cheap.
Book Review: Quit slouching and stand up straight Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellent book. Although I am only doing a few of the exercises, my awareness of slouching is ten thousand times what it was. And does one ever notice all the slouchers out there. My favorite quote from the book is
"We simple don't move enough." There are all kinds of exercises to get us standing up straight and I consider this a "Life skills" book. Book flows and is easy to read.
