Book Review: Is Amazon totally crazy?

The competition for e-readers is heating up and Amazon is dropping the ball.
As other reviewers noted, this was a GREAT Kindle book until they updated the Kindle and then it stopped working (those of you who say "the picture is tiny and useless" are right, but it used to be fine). Amazon tells you to call some number when you email to complain. Like I'm going to devote my life to this book getting fixed. It's BROKEN, enough people have complained you don't need me to call a number. That this has been 2 months is totally insane.
Oh, and has anyone noticed in the last update (with the useless "read PDFs in landscape on tiny sceen" feature added) every aspect of the Kindle got slower? Including simple deletions. Amazon actually admits this and says they're working on it. Note, unlike this single book, this is a general problem. DOES ANYONE TRY OUT THE CHANGES BEFORE INFLICTING THEM ON ALL OF US?
I love my Kindle, but sheesh this is bad.
