Book Review: I was wrong

I have completely redone this review. If you can learn or already know the things I will talk about it will make this book a lot easier.
I like to be helpful in my reviews. This book is probably the most complete book on QFT there is. This book shows you the mathematics you need and how to do the physics. This is a very mature book and contains every bit of math and physics you have ever learned and more. If you can get through this book not only will you have learned about QFT., but you will find all other physics almost trivial, with the exception of General Relativity and GR is really only tensor calculus with a little differential geometry.
I would like to show you what you need to get through this book. On page xi the author shows you what he thinks you need to get through this book. I want to tell you what you really need to know or learn to get through this book.
For example to do problem 7.2 the "right way", you need to know about the signum function and how to take its derivative. It is easy, but most people have not seen this function before. Learning is really the ability to find the information about the subject you are studying in a way it make sense to you.
Here is what you need to know or learn:
1. Greens Functions (How to solve differential equations with it)
2. Contour Integrals (The use of residue theory)
3. Fourier Transforms, (Fourier transforms in 4 dimensions and in spherical coordinates).
4. Some minor group theory
5. Delta function (You saw it in QM. but not to the degree you see it here)
6. Bessel functions
7. Tensor Analysis (Any book you can find cheap, just look on the web)
There is a book called Mathematics of classical and quantum physics. It costs under $20 on Amazon. This low cost book covers 1 through 6. Number seven is a little harder, you really only need to be able to do index gymnastics on tensors for QFT. Unless you are using General Relativity, the tensors really do not get too bad. The metric for OFT is usually in good old Cartesian coordinates.
This book really shows you how to do the theory. If you need a better understanding of particle physics then get the book, Introduction to Elementary Particles, by David Griffiths.
I have tried to show you how to better learn this book. If you know where you are going then you can better prepare for the trip. QFT becomes repetitive after a while but you need to get to this point first. If you at least know where to find the things you do not know when you hit them, you can save a lot of time.
