Book Reviews of Rachael Ray: Just In TimeBook Review: Nope, Rachel Ray still has no clue how to cook, not even here , keep lookin Summary: 1 Stars
Wow, how easy it is to trick a bunch of gullible house wives/husbands into buying into bad cooking and incredibly unhealthy lifesyles. Read this and realize that she simply cannot cook, she has no clue, and dont bother watching her show, unless you want to learn how to poison your entire family with her 30 minute meals. Please, for the sake of culinary excellence, read some Julia Child cookbooks, many of her meals can be made healthy, and many many many can be made in 30 minutes, without having to resort to giving your hard earned money to this muppet.
Book Review: Not for the health conscience Summary: 3 Stars
I have to disagree with some of the reviews that mentioned that this book was too hard to read because of the colors. I actually like the appearance of the book. I must say that I haven't tried any of the recipes. Only because I read things like heavy creams, cheeses, and butter. My book was a gift. So it's not a book for those that have a health conscience. But then again it's not a health book or kid friendly. Tip: Read the cook book covers before you purchase.
Book Review: Not family friendly Summary: 2 Stars
I am a mother of 6 and I love to cook/bake and try new recipes. My kids are pretty used to trying something new. I find that many of these recipes are not family friendly. Also, many of the ingredients are not convenient/on hand products. I searched 3 big name grocery stores to find a particular ingredient for a recipe I wanted to try....not exactly time savvy. I say at most there are a handful of recipes that will make it into our "make-again" list.
Book Review: Some Goodies in Here Summary: 4 Stars
This is the first RR Book I've used - got it from the library to try it. I have tried other RR recipes online and enjoyed them. I started with her "rollover" supper where you turn a pork loin into a curry, which then rolls into a chili. That's brilliant. They were all very, very good and saved me money and time. Like all cookbooks, I probably won't like everything, but there seems to be enough in here to get my money's worth.
Book Review: It Works Summary: 4 Stars
Rachel's cookbook does what it says. It offers recipes and tips for how to save time while eating yummy meals. One of my favorite recipes is the Gnocchi with Spinach and Gorgonzola. Coming home from work/school left me drained. But, pushing myself an extra 15 minutes to prepare this dish was WORTH IT! It was absolutely delicious and the best part? It didn't cost a bundle of money to fund. I whole-heartedly recommend this product.
