If you are serious about improving your diet and really understanding why you need to do that, this is a FANTASTIC book. I keep returning and re-reading both the science behind, and the art of preparing, raw foods. I do not eat 100% raw, but this book provides so many wonderful recipes that I just want to make one after another. I may end up with a higher percentage of raw because Cousens enables me to prepare wonderful, filling and healthy meals. I also feel very able to invent my own gourmet concoctions since this book explains how to put ingredients together in a pleasing way. A great foundational raw book, or a valuable addition to any collection!
Book Review: Nutrional wisdom, Yummy food Summary: 5 Stars
Gaqbriel Cousens is a wise and gifted man. His presentaion of his research, his understanding of our body's need for specialized, individual plans, raw nutrition and levels of healing, rid me of the confusion about all the diets out there. He recognises the need for support and the connection between our health and spirituality. I have tried many recipes and find them delicious and ellegant.
I am also touched by the "delicacies", and feeding our babies sections. His devotion to our total health and the planet's, shows in every page of this book.
Book Review: A great way to enjoy more raw food Summary: 4 Stars
I barrowed this book from a friend who had brought a fabulous uncooked pepper marinara sauce to a dinner party.I tried a few more recepies and they were all so excellent that I knew I should own this book too.I do try to eat alot of raw food but am not bound to eating soley raw,so I enjoy mixing some of the soups and sauces with steamed food and it works out great.The chefs who developed this recipe book are truely some of the best!It's a great addition to any cooks collection of cook books.I love it!
Book Review: Life Changing Summary: 5 Stars
This book, accompanied with 'There is a Cure for Diabetes' has been life changing. I am 33 years old, married, and have three children. Our middle son, was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes in December of 2008. By following the diet outlined in this book, we have been able to reduce his insulin intake by half. We are excited to see what will happen in the following two months. If you are suffering from ANY medical condition, reversible or "not" you must get this book and apply the knowledge in it.

Fabulous for your library or as a gift. Dr. Cousens has compiled all the data you need for optimal health and diet in the raw world. He explains how poor diet can affect your body. He adds pictures while explaining. I took a highlighter and highlighted facts I never want to forget. He has loads of recipes for all phases whether you are a beginner or looking to enhance your diet. This book will be around for a long time and worth so much more than he is charging.
