Book Reviews of Remember Me?

Book Review: Not in the league of "Can you keep a secret"
Summary: 3 Stars

I borrowed this book from library since I loved the "Undomestic Goddess" and "Can you keep a secret". "Can you keep a secret" is outright hilarious. I was expecting a book that would be as good as those two books. I was a bit dissapointed with this book. Even though this book would definitely hold your interest till the end and has quite a few funny sequences....the ending was not that good :-( There were times I felt real sorry for the heroine.

*SPOILER*

I could not feel convinced that a person can be so driven towards career that he/she could change their usual caring/loving personality into a hard/cruel (Exact opposite) individual in a span of 3yrs. Do people really do so much about turns in their adult life unless something extreme were to happen in their life? In this case, the events were not compelling enough to drive someone to such drastic extreme.

Book Review: predictable fun
Summary: 4 Stars

Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella, author of the popular shopaholic series, is a fun fast read for the ladies. Kinsella describes the premise for the book...what if you woke up and didn't recognize your life? What if you lost three years of memory--and everything had changed in that time?
The novel follows Lexi, who at one moment is commiserating with her friends about her dead end job and loser boyfriend, then, after a fall down the stairs, wakes up with a life where she is married to a handsome man and is a ruthless manager making the big bucks. Much like the TV show Samantha Who, the story is very unbelievable, but the characters are great and the fun lies in Lexi's quest to figure out just how she got to where she is today.
Recommended for fans of Shopaholic, Emily Giffin, Janet Evanovich, and The Devil Wears Prada.

Book Review: LOOOVE MS. KINSELLA
Summary: 5 Stars

She does it again. Sophie Kinsella writes another compulsive page turner. If you've read any of her other books, you know the drill. Young, pretty girl finds herself way over her head in a situation she knows nothing about. Things will get much worse before they get better, and a happy ending is guaranteed. Whether it's obsessive shopping, pretending to be a housekeeper, or spilling secrets to a stranger on a plane, who turns out to be her new boss, these books all follow the same path. Here, main character Lexi, wakes up in the hospital after being knocked unconcious for a few days. Her last memory takes place in 2004, but it is now 2007 in the book. She finds her life is completely changed and has to figure out how she did it, and how to deal with it. Hilarity ensues. Already waiting with baited breath for the next one.

Book Review: My first Kinsella book
Summary: 3 Stars

My husband gave this to me for Christmas along with a bunch of other books. The first third of the book was very clever and I enjoyed the plot. As you've read from other reviewers, Lexi wakes up from a car crash and can't remember the previous three years. In that time she's moved up the corporate ladder, married a gorgeous billionaire, and thinks her life is going to be perfect. It does some plot changes that made me think I was reading a female version of the movie Regarding Henry. However, I really enjoyed the end of the book. Due to the plot being slightly unoriginal as well as the writing technique, I don't rate it very high. But, if you want a light fun read this is a good one. I don't think I would personally have picked it out of a book store for myself but at least it was entertaining.

Book Review: laugh out loud.....

Lexi takes you on a ride in Remembe Me?
The day before her dad's funeral(2004), on her way home from a club she falls down a few steps and hits her head. wakes up in a hospital with a concussion, or so she thinks. they year is 2007 and she doesnt remember anything that happened after the fall in 2004. 3 years of her life blank. not only that but teh girl in the mirror looks nothing like her. not her hair or her body, it's a barbie version of herself (her words not mine). she thinks it's the perfect life, the perfect husband (yep she's married too). But the grass is not always greener on the other side.

read it it's an amazingly funny and heratwarming book. i couldnt put it down, i was right there with her and all her anxiety at not knowing who she is and what happened to her.
