Book Reviews of Renegade: The Making of a President

Book Review: Renegade: The Making of a President
Summary: 5 Stars

Dear Mr. Wolffe,

I have just finished listening to the book today and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I am so happy Mr. Wolffe and the President decided it should be written. I followed the very, very long campaign with great excitement right up to inauguration day and the book managed to recreate that excitement for me.
The author has a keen eye for character detail and reveals the President's well. The author suggests that there is more we could know about the President and I suspect he is correct. Nevertheless the portrait is very honest as well as sympathetic.
The writing keeps the narrative flowing and it was pleasant to listen to it. I wish the author had read the book himself since he has such a pleasant accent but, the reader was fine.

Book Review: Great book!
Summary: 5 Stars

Renegade is the first book I have ever bought when it was first released in hard cover before any discounts. I LOVE it! I am taking my time reading it in order to enjoy it as the events unfold. (NOTE: Renegade - the code word the Secret service used for candidate Obama)

The author, Richard Wolffe, with his keen eye for observation and indepth analysis, along with behind the scenes insights, has written a book that is truly a joy to read. It is more then just a story of Mr. Obama's campaign for President. Wolffe uses a lot of biographical information, along with a touch of humor and wit that is interwoven into the book that gives a front row seat to the campaign and addresses the question who is Barack Obama from a unique prespective.

I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Book Review: Great food for a political jukie
Summary: 5 Stars

Okay before I review this book, I will state I am one of the Kool aid drinkers. I am a political junkie and I am a huge Obama supporter. So, I got what I expected when I picked this book up. I found it so interesting, the behind the scenes look at the campaign, the depth and understanding of President Obama, and the excitement of reliving the campaign that had the right ending in my perspective.
Mr. Wolffe takes the reader from the very beginning, the decision to run, the people saying he couldn't win, all the ups and downs of the campaign, and then tries to explain how and why it was just the right person for the time and place...I don't know, just a good book, worth the read if you are interested in politics and may teach you something about our system if you are not.

Book Review: NavyZone Review
Summary: 5 Stars

I have to tell you this book was a wonderful read. Believe
it or not, I found myself often wondering how the campaign would turn
out. Given how much that campaign meant to me and how closely I
followed it, The writing really is outstanding.

I thought I knew every thing an outsider could know about this campaign. As I said, I had followed it very closely. After reading Richard Wolffe's book, I realized that I had much to learn. Wolffe gives us an inside look at the efforts and emotions involved in such an historic endeavor. I have to admit that I was more than pleased with the outcome of the election and delighted to learn so much of the how's and why's which led to the victory. Wolffe did a hell of a job. No disappointments here.

Book Review: Reviews should be about the book, not its price
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm getting really annoyed by reviewers who only complain about the cost and don't review the book itself. If you don't like Amazon's Kindle pricing practices, buy the hardcover. It seems to me if you could afford several hundred dollars for the Kindle itself, you can probably afford the cost of the book, even if it is a couple dollars more than the usual Kindle price.

It's not right for people to drag down the average rating for a book simply because they don't like the price. If people rated cars with this same approach, a cheap and badly built subcompact would have a higher rating than a Porsche. If you can't afford it, don't buy it, but don't downgrade the product itself. If you don't like Amazon's pricing policy, email them and complain about it.
