Book Reviews of Return to Sullivan's IslandBook Review: Big Disappointment Summary: 1 Stars
In anticipation of this novel, I re-read Sullivan's Island and Mango Sunsets as Benton-Frank is one of my favorite authors, being born & raised in the south myself I could always relate to her insight and wit. What a dissappointment. I ended up skimming over this horrible sham of a book. The best thing about Return to Sullivan's Island? I'm glad I bought it used.

Book Review: I was back on Sullivan's island Summary: 4 Stars
I waited with great anticipation for the release of "Return to Sullivan's Island " and I was not disappointed. It is summer reading at its best. Although I am many miles away, my senses are right back on the island and I can smell the sea, the mud, the air and hear the birds. The characters are all acquaintances of mine and I am thrilled to move among them.
Book Review: disappointing sequel.. Summary: 2 Stars
The original Sullivan's Island book is one of my all time favorites. So I had high expectations for this one. It was so disappointing. Very bland formulaic writing and the characters were weak. Not to mention the ghosts. The ending was expected mid-way through the book. So the sequel just does not even compare to the first one - there is no depth.
Book Review: Disappointed Summary: 1 Stars
I have loved all of the "Low Country" stories that I have read until now. I was terribly disappointed. All the other books I have read had a strong sense of community and friendship. A strong group of friends helping someone in trouble.
I'm still plowing my way through this book, but I'd like to give that ridiculously naive Beth a shake.
