Book Reviews of Rickles' Book: A MemoirBook Review: For those in their 50's Summary: 4 Stars
The book is written for those in their 50's. If you are interested in the following names, you'll love it: Milton Berele, Johnny Carson, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc. In my 30's, I stll thought he was pretty funny. He has a knack for making fun of people, the best around. The book is written more about funny stories through his career than about his life experiences. Some of the jokes are extremely dated - no profanity either, but still interesting and funny.
Book Review: Good read; sounds like him. Summary: 4 Stars
I didn't scream with laughter the way I do when he's talking, but I could hear his voice in the book. Too short I think, but it's not some detailed biography--it's a quick presentation, like his typical stories. I reckon if you hadn't heard him talk, it wouldn't read as funny as it does for me. But Mr. Rickles has class and heart and that comes through loud and clear; and that counts for a lot.
Book Review: Great memoir Summary: 5 Stars
I've known about Don Rickles for a couple of years now. I thought he was really funny and i liked some of the stories he would tell on talk shows, so i got this and i think it's got some great story's about his life. Surprisingly I know most of the celebs he mentions. I recommend this book to people who know Frank Sinatra,Clark Gable,Jackie Gleason, etc.
Book Review: RICKLES IS THE GREATEST! Summary: 5 Stars
I STARTED LAUGHING AFTER THE FIRST FEW PAGES.(I'M STILL LAUGHING EVEN NOW AFTER I FINISHED READING IT). I HAD THE PLEASURE OF PLAYING WITH AN OPENING ACT IN VEGAS BEFORE HE CAME ON . THAT WAS IN 1969. AND THE GUY IS JUST BRILLIANT. I RECCOMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE THAT LOVES TO LAUGH. I COULD'NT PUT IT DOWN. A MUST READ. FRANK COLLETT TAGLIERI
Book Review: Rickles Book Summary: 5 Stars
What a great read! This guy knew all the big entertainers from the 1950's to the present day. Once you start reading it -- you will not be able to put it down until you are done!
