Book Reviews of Rosacea: Your Self-Help GuideBook Review: Wish I had this book earlier Summary: 4 Stars
I have lived with rosacea for over 10 years. In this time I have found out a lot of what works and does not work for me. This book first and foremost really encourages and affirms that when it comes to rosacea you need to be your own expert. What might trigger or help on person might do nothing for you or do just the opposite.
I loaned this book to a friend who had just been newly diagnosed. She found it to be a great help
So whether you have had rosacea for a long time or newly diagnosed this book has value. It is well worth the price and is by far less expensive than many of the creams, pills, or diets that claim to have an impact on rosacea. Buy this book first then decide which options you want to pursue next on your quest to manage your rosacea.
Book Review: Excellent source of support for rosaceans! Summary: 4 Stars
Dr. Brownstein has written a great basic book for sufferers of rosacea. She includes in her book alternative methods of healing rosacea, including ocular rosacea, that I found extremely helpful. In addition, she directs you to helpful sites and sources of support for rosacea on the internet where one can find out about great products and treatments, both alternative and traditional. I love the book and am very grateful for the help it provides. I am giving it four stars rather than five only because it does not go into all the technical medical information that most people won't be interested in, anyway. Dr. Nase's book Beating Rosacea, would be the most technical book available. But for most people, this one is excellent.
Book Review: Hope for Rosaceans! Summary: 5 Stars
I have suffered for most of my life from rosacea. Told so many times that I simply would have to live with this dismaying condition, imagine my relief (joy really!) to find in one comprehensive, well-written, yet very accessible book all of the information I've ever sought. This is an extraordinarily helpful work, presented in everyday terms that any sufferer (whom the authors jocularly deem "The Rosaceans")can readily understand and immediately put to use. Everything from "trigger foods" to the effects of sun and wind, to the latest in medical and alternative treatment. Thank you for this wonderful book, Arlen Brownstein and Donna Shoemaker!"
Book Review: Info on psychological stress of rosacea Summary: 5 Stars
What I really like about this book is that someone finally deals in practical terms with the psychological impact of a chronic disease sitting right there on your face with all the world to see. The authors really make you think about what you can do to put rosacea in proper perspective so it no longer controls your life. I needed someone to point it out to me and I needed ideas on how to do it. That, along with countless suggestions on how to deal with the physical symptoms of rosacea, make me enthusiastically recommend this book.
Book Review: This book was a Godsend! Summary: 5 Stars
Rosacea had been making my life miserable for the past five years. My depression over the disease was literally ruining my life. A fellow rosacean suggested this book to me after she found it so helpful. I have been following the suggestions in the book for a little over a month now. There is no doubt that my skin has begun to dramatically improve. I hope the author reads these reviews, because I want her to know how thankful I am to her. If you have rosacea, get this book. I can't recommend it highly enough.
