Book Reviews of Rules of Prey (Lucas Davenport, No. 1)

Book Review: FIRST LT. LUCAS DAVENPORT BOOK
Summary: 4 Stars

I guess you could say I am a johnnie-come-lately to the world of mystery/detective genre, so years and years after publishing, I pick up the Prey series. RULES OF PREY and its hero, Lt. Lucas Davenport are great. Davenport is different being a cop with money and not being a really funny guy like some detectives. A real change of pace for me and I enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to the next book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Book Review: Great Sandford Novel
Summary: 4 Stars

After reading Dark of the Moon I thought I would jump into the Prey series. If this book is any indictator of things to come I can't wait to get my next one. I like how he starts out with a murder and draws your attention to describing the killer. Then moves into the story and keeps the suspense going through the end. I really enjoyed Rules of Prey, I hope you do too.

Book Review: First Davenport novel a definite thriller!!
Summary: 4 Stars

The first Lucas Davenport novel was thrilling. It introduces readers to manly man, Lucas Davenport, whose masculinity is often heavy-handed. We get it, he can be with any woman and do everything. But beyond that there is a great cat & mouse game played between hero and villain. We also see how much a huge role the media can play in crime. Overall, a very good read.

Book Review: A Gripping, Hold-on-to-your-seat Page-turner
Summary: 4 Stars

This book is a typical hold-on-to-your-grip page-turner. It is
about a serial killer named Mad Dog who calls his prey 'the
chosen'. Mad Dog is pursued by a cop named Lucas Davenport who
is a Don Juan and game maker on the side. He drives a Porsche
and has sex with one of the chosen.

The book is gory, fun and good for the genre.

Book Review: Rules of Prey
Summary: 4 Stars

In this first book of an ongoing series we meet detective Lucas Davenport. Lucas is quite rough around the edges and a lot "bad boy". Lucas is in pursuit of a serial killer known only as maddog. Fast paced with writing that keeps you on the edge of your seat, this is a great beginning to what I hope will be a great series!
