Book Reviews of Sail

Book Review: Unbelievably poor
Summary: 1 Stars

This book insults one's intelligence so thoroughly that it's almost (emphasizing almost) entertaining. How many cliches can be fit into a single chapter? Will any ONE chapter be longer than two pages? How many lines of stilted dialogue will be offered up?

Other than two semi-interesting plot twists toward the end, this book is almost without any redeeming value, except that it's so simplistic I could read it in an hour and a half so I didn't waste too much time. My one consolation is that I bought it in an airport bookstore that offers half off if you return it...can't wait to do so.

Sometimes, authors are just earning a paycheck and making a deadline. And it shows.

Book Review: Give me more
Summary: 5 Stars

I have to say this book was amazing. In another review I read they stated it was unreal, unbelieveable, but it is a fiction novel, it's not supposed to be real? One night I was up until 4 a.m. reading this book, and another 5 a.m. I finally decided i need to go to sleep! It's that intruiging, it's just that good. I love all three James Patterson books I've read: 3rd Degree, Judge and Jury, and now Sail. I HIGHLY recommend this book to people, if you dont like it, i'm sorry, becuase I absolutley love it, I just finished it about 10 minutes ago, and have my older sister reading it already. Also, I've never felt the need, or took the time to post a review, but this book is well deserving.

Book Review: Better than his most recent books.
Summary: 3 Stars

After not fully enjoying his past few books I was skeptical about reading this one. This book was given to me by a friend,so I figured if i dont like it no loss since I didnt pay for it. I was a bit surprised as to how well this book really was. A very good story line and a quick read. Also his characters werent the one dimensional types he normally creates. i dont want to give the story away so i wont get into details but the ending shocked me, normally I can come very close to predicting his endings but with this book I wasnt able to. If you are/were a doubting thomas (like me) when it comes to reading pattersons books, you may want to pick this one up and give him a second chance.

Book Review: Not C. S. Lewis, but wasn't expecting any "Aha" Moments from this read!!
Summary: 5 Stars

So when i want to read a quick read with not much substance but a thriller I like to pick up James Patterson. I like his plots, but no...when I go to read his books i don't expect to feel like the main characters are my next door neighbors. I don't pick up his novels thinking that I am going to have an Oprah Windfery "AH" moments. If that if your goal...don't pick up any James Patterson novels, but if you like easy, quick reads that are intense...somewhat predictable then he is the author for you. I thought this book was better than some of his latest by far. I really enjoyed it!!!! When I want something deeper I will go to C. S. Lewis or Phillip Yancey thanks!!!

Book Review: Very Exciting and Page Turning
Summary: 5 Stars

I disagree with the negative reviews that I read. I found this book to be exciting and page turning. What I hope for when I read a book is to be entertained and a believable story. People must remember that when you read fiction you have to have some imagination. Sometimes I think people critique a book too much and forget that it is fiction.
The characters are interesting and believable. I could feel a sense of dread when something was about to happen and couldn't stop reading it. There is a twist at the end that I couldn't see coming.
I loved this book and would recommend it to all James Patterson fans.
