Book Review: Saunders Comprehensive Review for NCLEX-RN

This book is very comprehensive, I will say that. It is basically nursing school all wraped in a huge book. There is just WAY to much to read and retain. Very easy to loose concentration. I became so bored with it that I stopped reading it. The CD-ROM is very poor. Granted it contains 1000's of practice questions to help you prepair, but it is very annoying to use. The operation of the CD is not at all smooth. After you answer a question, the CD spools up in your CD-ROM player, which is loud, therfore it takes a couple of seconds before you see the next question, this will break your concentration as it did for me, and after awhile you start to see the same questions over and over. There were many times that I got the same question five times in a row. There is no real way to know how you are doing because after awhile, you see the same questions, you know the answers, how does that help?! I found this book and CD-ROM to be very boring, and annoying. I STRONGLY discourage anyone from buying this book. I became so fed up with this book and CD that I threw it all in the trash. Don't waste your money. The best book that I found to help you prepare for the NCLEX is Kaplans' NCLEX-RN 2000-2001. Absolutley the best book you can buy.
