Book Reviews of Seduce Me at Sunrise (The Hathaways, Book 2)

Book Review: I Love the Hathaway Family - book 2 of the series
Summary: 5 Stars

The Hathaway family is so entertaining and it's so interesting to watch them grow and change. This is the story of Win and Merripen who have loved each other forever but due to Win's health they never acted on those feelings. In this book the author gives you some history of how Win and Merripen have developed into the current characters. Win returns home with one goal to live life and Kev Merripen is at the top of her list. Great novel, I love the Gypsy storyline and the characters from The Wallflower Series making a cameo.

I would also suggest; Mine Till Midnight (The Hathaways, Book 1) ,
Secrets of a Summer Night (The Wallflowers, Book 1), It Happened One Autumn (The Wallflowers, Book 2), The Devil in Winter (The Wallflowers, Book 3),Scandal in Spring (The Wallflowers, Book 4), A Wallflower Christmas

Book Review: A cosy read but not memorable....
Summary: 3 Stars

Another author suffering from the curse of the family series. I have really enjoyed some of LK's earlier 'one off' books but not all of the Wallflower books were equally good (Devil in Winter was my favourite)and now we are branching from the Wallflowers into a whole new but vaguely connected family - the Hathaways. Cam and Amelia's story I can't really remember much about and this one will probably be the same.

Seduce me at Sunrise was an easy read and a feel good read and a pleasant way to pass a few lazy hours but the story didn't really ever move me hugely. You are constantly told that Kev/Merripen is burning with intensity but I didn't really feel it. His conflict with himself never seemed terribly real or very necessary to me - I was as frustrated as Win by the time he finally carried her off over his shoulder.

There was plenty of information about the other family members and suggestions and hints that their stories are to come. Probably the next one is Leo and the governess and then Polly and then Bea.

Agree with the other reviewer that the plot twist at the end was not necessary, far too facile and predictable.

Lisa Kleypas fans will no doubt buy this book anyway but if it's your first time for Kleypas recommend some of her earlier books in particular Dreaming of You or Because you're Mine and the more recent Devil in Winter.

Book Review: Lisa at her Almost Best
Summary: 4 Stars

This wasn't her best book, in my opinion, I perfer characters like Lord St. Vincent in "Devil in Winter". But the Roms in this book and the first (Mine Till Midnight) are interesting and the heroes the type of men who make your heart melt.

However, I did not give this 5 stars for two reasons. First, for those of you who aren't too familiar with Ms. Kleypas's work, she has a tendency to finish off a B-story line quickly at the end of a book, and she did it here. SMALL SPOILERS ALERT...WARNING....the hero of this book, Kev, and the hero of the last book, Cam, find a missing relative and quick as a wink, Kev gets a fairy tale ending. But this is done in the last 20 or so pages after stringing it along through the whole book. Second, the entire book flips back and forth through POV of different characters. Even though this is Kev and Win's story, we get more story of Cam and Ameila (the couple in Mine till Midnight), and we get set up for Leo's story in the next book with Ms. Marks (the governess). I was always told never to flop POV's but I guess once you sell books in 14 different languages that rule flies out the door.

Actually, these negatives aren't so bad. If you are new to Lisa's books then they can be vexing, but overall, this was a nice romance. I enjoyed it and I think you will too.

Book Review: Magnificent is just an understatement.... P.E.R.F.E.C.T.I.O.N!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Since i first read Mine till Midnight i was captivated by Winn and Kev story. Lisa has delivered another sensational story that will make you smile even when you are far done with the book. I got to say that Kleypas is one of my favorties authors, not to say the # 1!!! she has this way of writing so real and believable that there comes a time that you are so trapped into the story that you don't want to go back to reality.

I absolutely fell in love with Kev. He so possesive with Winn, so careful, and their love is so palpable that someone would have to be blind not see how much they love/want each other. One of the reasons why i love lisa is because of her ability to create such vivid romances. the chemestry she delivers on her characters are extremely real!!!! you can FEEl the characters falling madly in love, FEEL their passion, their emotions, their sadness, their happiness. I'm a very hard-to-please reader when it comes to romances; for me to READ a book has to really make me feel and believe in the situationg going on. That's why everytime Kleypas has a new book out, i don't even waste time on the reviewe, she is one the the few authors that had NEVER dissapointed me, on the contrary, her books are my favorites on the shelf!!!!

Book Review: One of the Best Love Stories of the Centry!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Bravo Lisa klepas!!! If I could give this book 10 stars I would. I could not put this book down!! Every page was exciting and it made you feel like you were in the story with the characters!! The LOVE between Kev and Win the main characters in the book is given so much detail and feeling that you know what they are going through its a forbidden Love they share Win admits to it and Kev denies it, because of his pass. Kev has been abused in everyway as a child also, he is a gypsy and this is making matters worse for Kev he feels his does not desever her. However once Kev realizes that he cant live without her he kidnaps her and after I read these chapters the end of 16 and chapter 17 I blieve all females should be kidnapped by the men they love!!! This is how a man should take a virgin it was perfectly described and It should be required reading for men to see how it is done!! I wont say anymore THIS IS A MUST READ BOOK BRAVO LISA I hope thier is more to come in this series. Oh one more thing I would suggest that you read the first book in the series( Mine Til Midnight) which is very good but not as good as this one however the first book supports this one. I have already re-read this book!!
