Book Reviews of Seeker

Book Review: Best of the Alex Benedict novels
Summary: 4 Stars

Seeker is the most original, interesting, and thoughtful of the Alex Benedict novels. Like the others, so long as you don't take it too seriously, you can have some fun reading it.

I'm not a big McDevitt fan, but I like the Alex Benedict novels. They're reasonably well crafted. Just think of this book as a little "roughage" for your mind.

Book Review: Interplanetary Thrill-Ride
Summary: 4 Stars

A very engaging story, perfect for killing a few airplane rides. It's about 50% mystery, 50% sci fi. It all starts with a lady who shows up with a 9000 year old plastic mug (this all set about 10K years in the future), and goes from there. The investigative parts were mostly boring/annoying for me, but the sci-fi aspects make up for it.

Book Review: Very Satisfying Mystery in Space
Summary: 5 Stars

Very entertaining Mystery in Space. This is the second book I've read by McDevitt, and I think this one is better than Polaris, but I enjoyed both. It's not required to read this series in any kind of order. Light, entertaining, enjoyable, quick read. Will read more from this author. Nominated for this years Nebula award. Recommended.

Book Review: Excellent read
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm a huge fan of Jack McDevitt and this is the book that started my interest. He weaves a sci-fi tale of the far future with a bit of Sherlock Holmes type of investigation. I have read it twice and intend to read it again. Anyone who liked Polaris would love this.

Book Review: Seeker
Summary: 4 Stars

This is the first book I have read by Jack McDevitt, and I look forward to reading more of his creations. This book was good reading entertainment. Not too complicated and a good story line. Believable science underpins his science fiction writing. Very enjoyable.
