Book Review: Was always frustrated with sewing before this book

This book has totally gotten me over my fear and frustration with sewing on a sewing machine. Combined with the manual for my machine, I have finally figured it out! Yes, it is basic, but that is exactly what I needed. I get so frustrated with the patterns at the fabric store that say "Beginners" but then are anything but that - filled with jargon and confusing directions.
That being said, there are a few additions I would make to the book. On the tote bag project, use one-sided, thin fusible weft, otherwise you'll be trying to sew through waaaay too much thickness. Stupid people at JoAnn sold me double-sided super duper thick weft at $17/yard that was a waste. I'll be starting that project completely over again because I can't sew through all the thicknesses. Yes, I showed them the book and supply list for the project. Also, Page 56 has Option A and Option B switched.
For the pillow, don't buy one-sided piping unless you can match up the front of the piping to the front of the pillow. (another lesson learned)
I have learned that sewing is really fun, but it does take patience and sense of detail!!
