I have five cookbooks for scones, teabreads, and muffins so I am able to compare this one. The recipes are excellent, instructions are clear, and there are a good variety of recipes. These are scones you can make from ingredients you usually have on hand, although if you want to try some of the more exotic recipes, you won't need to spend much to experiment. This book also has some extras, including Rosalie Clark's "Mom and the Pig". That story alone made the purchase worthwhile! Mock Devonshire Cream and Lemon Curd recipes are included. You can't go wrong with this book. It also makes a very nice gift for a friend who enjoys baking or likes scones.
