Book Reviews of Shelter DogsBook Review: HEARTWARMING!!! Summary: 5 StarsWhat a super, super book with beautiful pictures! What a wonderful way to show people that shelter dogs are just as wonderful and beautiful as that puppy at the pet store. My smile was up over my ears when I saw that the majority of these dogs found loving homes, but my heart aches for those that didn't.
Book Review: Heart warming Summary: 5 StarsEveryone should see this book. The statistics alone should be stated in every newspaper in the country. In my opinion, cats and dogs are so pure and wonderful and innocent. They create so much love for all of us to enjoy if we only would take the time to slow down a bit.
I am so thankful for the person who took the pictures of these beautiful dogs that I otherwise would have never had the opportunity to admire.
Book Review: Beautiful and poignant Summary: 5 StarsThe photos is this amazing book are just gorgeous. The end, with descriptions of all the dogs and their stories, is hard to take. Many of the dogs were adopted, but several had to be euthanized. I hope this book draws attention to America's tragic pet overpopulation problem. Bravo to the author for taking on such an important project.
Book Review: Highly Recommended Summary: 5 StarsThis is an excellent book for any animal lover. The stories are so heartfelt and the photos are wonderful. The best purchase I made last year!
Book Review: "Their picture is the only record they lived...." Traer Scott Summary: 5 StarsThe portraits of some doomed dogs made me think real hard about what I could do besides feel sorry for the "leftovers" at the shelter or send money to quite my conscience. Ms. Scott certainly hit the nail on the head when she captured the soul of those pups. I feel a special connection to Riley the Rhodesian ridgegback mix and am a little antsy about Pit Bull dogs; but need to adjust my prejudice about that dog and do something positive. R.Weiner
