Book Reviews of Shroud: The Journal Of Dark Fiction And ArtBook Review: Issue #2 of Shroud ROCKS!! Summary: 5 Stars
Great cover art, and the new binding is a big improvement. Issue #1 was one of the strongest 1st issue releases in the past ten years, so issue#2 had a lot to live up to. It exceeded my expectations, with more top-notch fiction from seasoned pros and exciting newcomers. The interview and the book review sections were well done. This is a professional magazine of dark fiction, I can't wait to see issue #3.
Book Review: Scare Your Pants Off! Summary: 5 Stars
I am a subscriber, but I had to give a shout out for this new format and the assortment of fiction collected in issue #2. You've got flash and longer stories that will eat your shorts off and fry your flesh. Don't read this in the dark because it's difficult to see well. Take it from me, Shroud is going to be a premier horror magazine if it keeps them coming like this one.
Book Review: An irresistible read Summary: 5 Stars
I really like the new format of the magazine, which is much sturdier than the A4 magazine format used previously. Issue one was outstanding, but issue two is even more impressive, with a fantastic cover, excellent printing and some knock out stories. This is one of the best horror fiction magazines already. I look forward to see how it develops over future issues!
Book Review: Wow Summary: 5 Stars
What a tremendous magazine--and I'm not just saying that because I have a story in this issue. :) Shroud is very swiftly becoming one of the best horror magazines in the business. Top notch production values, handsome cover, and some very, very good fiction inside. Well done!
Book Review: Giving a Voice to the Creepy and Gothic Summary: 4 Stars
This magazine is chock full of gothic tales of horror. Great introduction to a vast array of writers in this genre that I would have never been exposed to. Can't wait to see how this magazine develops over the years!
