Book Reviews of Silly Sally (Red wagon books)

Book Review: Mom of a vivacious little girl
Summary: 5 Stars

My daughter loved this book ever since I brought it home from the bookstore and we read it that first time. Every chance she gets she wants to "read" it. My daughter knows the verses very well. If I'm reading with her, she doesn't give me the time to finish reading one part before she says "silly sally went to town..." If your child has a hard time focusing and needs bright colorfull pictures and a catchy rhyming phrase, "THIS" is the book. Soon your child will be "reading" the book. I gave it five stars because my daughter can't put this book down. Although she is not an independent reader, she thinks she is reading when she "reads" this book. It makes her feel good. If you ask her what her favorite book is. she says "Silly Sally." As a matter of fact this is one of my favorite books to read with her.

Book Review: A silly story indeed.
Summary: 3 Stars

Silly Sally offers rhyming rolled into a cumulative tale à la "This Is the House That Jack Built" not to mention Audrey Wood's own The Napping House, the latter of which I prefer over Silly Sally. For a buttercup, Neddy is a bit of a fruitcake.

This is a short, silly book whose reading experience will be optimized by paying close attention to the objects in the background as Sally approaches town. I don't think many people will find a reason to dislike this book but nor do I expect it to be everyone's favorite.

3.5 stars. Rounding down because it simply isn't a book my kids request.

Book Review: One of my top 10 Kids books EVER
Summary: 5 Stars

Silly Sally is one of the best written baby/toddler books on the market. It is funny, repetative and witty and it doesn't talk down to kids. My 3 year old has loved this book since she was little. As soon as she could walk, she would turn herself upside-down (head on the floor) along with Sally while I ready the book.

Audrey Wood is one of my favorite children's book authors. Her books are well written and have amazing rythm. I buy this book for all of my friends having first babies. Other people know to get them Goodnight Moon and My Love for You, but not everyone has found Audrey Wood.

Book Review: Success reading for the beginning reader
Summary: 5 Stars

As a reading specialist I use this book to help develop reading fluency, since this a predictable book the student can predict who or what will happen next by looking at the pictures and looking for rhyming words thereby gaining confidence in his or her reading ability by establishing a flow.
I have this book on my shelf for my success reading time for my students. Each class starts out with 15-20 minutes of success reading and the students get to read a previously practiced book to the group and this is one of the most popular books chosen by the students.

Silly Sally is a great childrens book, it's a book for bigginer readers. It's fun and easy to read with an easy vocabulary and its rhyming format. The book Silly Sally is about a girl named Sally who goes to town walking backwards upside down. On her trip through town she meets different animals who she engages in different activities with. Then she meets Ned Buttercup who walks forward rightside up. Ned tickles all the animals as well as Sally who is sleeping. He wakes them up and they continue there journey together animals and all.
