Book Reviews of Silly Sally (Red wagon books)Book Review: Silly Sally Summary: 4 Stars
"Silly Sally" is one of those especially-for-fun books that are really great to read to pre-schoolers! The love and bonding between adult and child and child and book that happens when reading and talking about good books is magic! And, the word play is an invaluable pre-reading skill that will enhance learning to read. Have fun with this story--no one needs to know you are "teaching." Older children also love the rhythm and rhyme and enjoy this story.
Book Review: Stars for Silly Sally Summary: 5 Stars
Can Audrey and Don Woods go wrong? I have not seen a single book by this pair that I haven't liked. I love the illustrations as usual, but I really love the meter of the text and the way it is combined and placed with the illustrations. It has a very musical quality and really lends itself to being read aloud. I have it almost memorized after only a few readings. I think I probably like to read it more than my daughter :-)
Book Review: My favorite children's book Summary: 5 Stars
I absolutely love Silly Sally, the girl who went to town walking backwards upside down. Not only is it fun to read - the rhymes are fantastic! - but the story and illustrations are truly wonderful. My daughter and I have read this book over and over again and she still giggles when Neddy Buttercup comes up. I now give this book to all of my friends who are expecting. Definitely buy this book - it's a keeper.
Book Review: Silly Sally Summary: 4 Stars
Its' a cute book but both my son (he's 2) and I recognized the meter and rhyme from the Berenstain Bears 'Inside, Outside, Upside down' Hmmm. Maybe if we'd started with this he'd have loved this one first. He's suspicious about this one. He likes the meter and is curious about the little girl walking upside down but he likes his old favorite - 'Mama, Mama, I went to town, Inside, Outside, Upside Down'.
Book Review: Always a Crowd Pleaser Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this book when my kids were little and they loved it. I bought it this time to take to the Autism Spectrum Disorder classroom in which I work as a paraprofessional. The kids loved it. I always pretend to fall asleep on the page that Sally falls asleep so the kids have to yell, "Wake up!" It's a fun book, and the copy I received was in excellent condition and arrived before expected.
