Book Reviews of SistersBook Review: Hmm. Summary: 3 Stars
I just finished Danielle Steel's 'Sisters'. I've never read any of her work before but I thought I'd give her a shot.
This book started out great-the characters were well-illustrated and I wasn't many pages in before I started to care about the characters and wonder what was going to happen next.
The problem with this book-it's end was just thrown together. All the loose ends were tied up in a couple of pages with no explanations, almost like the buzzer going off at a town hall meeting signaling the next speaker or something.
The end of this book did not live up to the introduction and body. I might try another one some other time, the author is very talented but I know this particular book wasn't one of her better works.
Book Review: Very unbelievable!! Summary: 2 Stars
This was the second Danielle Steel book I have ever read (the first was a long time ago) and now I remember why I do not read them.
I found Danielle Steel's writing to be very dull and repetitive. I felt as though I were reading the same thing over and over.
As if that weren't bad enough, the storyline was so unbelievable...it centers around a family of perfect sisters, each beautiful but with a different color hair and each with either a high-powered career, fame, or a talent. Tragedy strikes perfect family, but don't worry, more perfect things happen and everyone lives happily ever after.
If you are after a very formulaic read, this is the book for you. If you want a book with an interesting plot and lifelike characters, look elsewhere!
Book Review: Great story of true sisterhood Summary: 4 Stars
I really enjoyed this book. I had stopped reading Danielle steele for awhile, because I wasn't enjoying the story lines, but I couldn't put this book down. It greatly portrayed how sisters come together in time of crisis and help each other out. The book is about four sisters who lead very different lives in different parts of the worrld, but always come home for holidays and on this one fourth of july a tragedy strikes this family and one of the sisters becomes blind and has to learn how to start her life over. At the same time they loose their mom in this same tragedy and all learn how to overcome their grief and bond as sisters to help Annie with her blindness. I would definatly recommend this book as a good read.
Book Review: GOD BLESS DANIELLE STEEL!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Why, you ask? Maybe it is because Danielle Steel is the only author out there who can make me sob uncontrollably. As I read this particular book, I had to set it down and call a friend in order to get my emotions back in check. AND NO...I am not the sort of person who cries over every little thing in life! Danielle Steel just has an uncanny ability to tear a hole in your heart and make you feel the emotions that her characters are experiencing. "Sister" gave me a great up and down ride. From tragedies to extreme blessings, this book did not disappoint me.
Book Review: Waste of Money Summary: 1 Stars
If I could give this book a half of a star I would. I got this book at the airport to pass time. Well, time did pass very slowly. It took me two hours to get through the first chapter. Everytime I would attempt to read it I would fall asleep. The characters are boring, the plot is boring, everything about this book is boring, and the writing is lame. My time would have been better spent reading for my Abnormal Psychology class. Don't even waste your money on it, hold out for something better.
