It was historically accurate and I thoroughly enjoyed the authors style of writing. The development of the characters was excellent. I am looking forward to reading his next novel. This book should be on everyones "to read" list.
Book Review: Amazingly good book! Summary: 5 Stars
If you love historical novels you will absolutely love this book. It is haunting and at times tragic and sad but it covers a part of World War II that we hear so little about...I feel completely enriched by what I learned and astounded by all the emotions I felt as I read it. This is one you will never forget, it is a must-read!
Book Review: Shimel13 Summary: 4 Stars
I loved this book. It really gave you a good insight into the lives of Germans and Jews in World War II. It definately peaked my interest into this era in time. I found myself drawn to find out more about the holocaust. It is a book that stays with you and doesn't let you forget.
Book Review: Terrific book Summary: 5 Stars
I really enjoyed this work. It isn't often that one finds literature from the perspective of German civilians. It inspired me to go read about the migrations that occurred during and after WWII.
Book Review: Excellent read Summary: 5 Stars
This is quite a graphic novel so is not for the person with a very delicate nature. Wonderful when a novel can give such a good view of history and the actual suffering involved during WWII.
