Book Reviews of SlashBook Review: Slash Book Summary: 5 Stars
Man, what a great book. I just recently started to get back into the G N R as a result of this book. I always thought that it was a big facade, that is Slash being that messed up in the past. He's such a great guitar player, that I somehow thought that that was all part of his "persona".
Very well written, and he is very un-critical of Axl, so I'm still in the dark as to exactly what his part was in the downfall of the band.
Book Review: Good Bio Summary: 5 Stars
Guns N' Roses came on big with Appetite for Destruction and then a couple of records later they were gone in the traditonal cliche, but they etched a placce in rock and roll history.
In this book Slash describes it all from his early years and through GNR. A well written book that reads quickly and is a good insight the band, the people behind it and the music.
One of the better music books I have read.
Book Review: Entertaining and Oddly Diplomatic Summary: 4 Stars
This book is great because it focuses on the music. In addition to learninig what motivates Slash and the origins of some of your favorite songs you will finally accept and understand why...There will never be a Guns and Roses reunion. Slash is surprisingly diplomatic in his discussions regarding Axl...bravo, classy approach, he takes the high road which makes the book even better. Read this book.
Book Review: Excellent read Summary: 5 Stars
This book was excellent and insightful into the man behind the top hats life! I found my self not being able to set it down for long and read through it in no time! It definately gives you a behind the scenes look and has some really cool stories and facts that I wasn't aware of! I Recommend this for any G 'n R fans who wondered what it was like looking out from the inside!
Book Review: Slash Rocks! Summary: 5 Stars
Although it's your typical autobiography from a rock star, it was super entertaining. I got this book a while back & really enjoyed it. If you love GNR it's a great behind the scenes look at the passion & dysfunction that was the band in its heyday. You feel more connected to not only the band, but to Slash after you're finished with the book. Very enjoyable!
