San Diego Police Detective Carina Kincaid, is investigating what turns out to be a serial rapist /murderer. With the help of Montana Sheriff Nick Thomas (who is also the brother of the prime suspect) they work to bring the committer of these heinous crimes to justice, falling in love along the way.
In this well-paced mystery with great sub-plots, the author draws us along with skill, great imagery, and a well researched use of forensics. This is a great read.
Book Review: Not Romance, Cross-Marketed Summary: 1 Stars
This book is a fine suspense book, and please note all the comments below. I am sure that they are accurate for a reader seeking a suspense novel.
If you are looking for romance, do NOT buy this book. It is being cross-promoted in the romance section of Amazon and others. This is not the fault of the author, merely a publishing house that misleads buyers to increase profits.
I give it one star for the cross-promotion. I was looking for romance and wasted money on a book that has none.
Book Review: Almost but not quite good Summary: 4 Stars
Albeit the main plot is awfully well written the second plot was the preview of her book "The Hunt". This book is part of a different trilogy. So I don't know why AB wanted to write that preview here. Maybe to make some advertising of the other trilogy.
The book's end was like a fairy tale, why? Because the book's main characters and lovers solved their past -books- problems so they can leave happily ever after... until you read "Fear No Evil". Now let me tell you that that's a very good book.
Book Review: A Really Good Mystery, Suspense and Romance Novel Summary: 5 Stars
Rarely do you find all three done well in one novel, mystery, suspense and romance. This was my first book by this author and I've already bought the rest of the trilogy. I see now that this trilogy is connected to her previous one, which I would like to read too. The book incorporates police procedurals and family dynamics into a complex story line, but one that comes together well. I couldn't put it down once I picked it up! This book does have very explicit sex and violence.
Book Review: Intense and exciting, despite lacking a bit in relationship development Summary: 2 Stars
The mystery was really good, but the development of Carina and Nick's relationship outside of the bedroom was really weak, and the ending was unfulfilling; the whole thing about Nick leaving and all that jazz was just irrelevant, and we never found out what happened with Kyle Burns. The last book in this series, Fear No Evil: A Novel, was the best; I'd go with that one.
