Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist Ronda M. Wojcicki presents Speech Class Rules: An Introduction to Speech Therapy for Children is a picturebook that teaches young readers about what to expect when attending a class designed to help them with speech/language impairments. "When Felipe started coming to speech class, he talked with a lot of 'bumps'. (That's what Miss W. calls it when he stops in the middle of a word or sentence, or he repeats something). She says that some people call it stuttering. But now he's learning to use 'easy speech' with soft starts and lots of breaths." Speech Class Rules is a very positive and nonthreatening introduction ideal for easing anxiety, and especially recommended for school libraries to help orientate students learning communication skills.
