Visited St John Virgin Islands in 2010 with family and found it a wonderful vacation. I can watch any of the HD travel channels as they visit beaches around the world and say I've been to beaches like that. This book is not a travel guide per se. There are no listings of restaurants or places to stay, but it has extensive listings of the beaches and trails of the island. It is descriptive and informative. Where to park, highlights and objects of special interest. There are dozens of beaches around this island each with their special charm and this book will help keep track. Snippnets of information about flora, fauna and the history round out the book. Other books can help you get here but this is one you need once you arrive.
