Book Reviews of State of the Union: A ThrillerBook Review: Dont Waste Your Time Or 5 Dollars. Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this one for a quick vacation read. It looked like
the kind of book I like. This writer started out strong. Then each chapter got slower and slower and harder to read.
I actually quit wasting my time and gave up on it A first for me in 48 years!
This book should be required at Guatanamo for the terrorists.
Eccept it would be cruel and unusual punishment!
Book Review: Thor is a master of the genre. Summary: 5 Stars
From Russia to London to Langley, Virginia, Brad Thor weaves a story of mystery, espionage and intrigue. Follow the trail of a super spy as he thwarts a secret plot to rob America of her most prized possession. Told in detailed brilliance by the master of the "spy novel" genre, Brad Thor, this page-turner will keep you on the edge of your seat as the twists and turns of the plot unfold.
Book Review: State of the Union Summary: 4 Stars
A good thriller. I am reading Thor's entire series and each one, while standing alone as a thriller, refers to some characters or events in previous books that blend the stories together. State of the Union does exactly that. Though I am not finished with the series, I can fairly confidently say that if you like one, you will like them all. Solid action and hard to put down.
Book Review: Exciting, albeit simple. Summary: 4 Stars
Brad Thor's novels are extremely fun to read and quite captivating, a la Matthew Reilley, but just like the aforementioned author, he writes with such a simple, action-packed prose, that it is hard to reccomend to others, unless of course that is what you are looking for. But really, it is a thriller novel, you shouldn't go into it expecting Faulkner, expect Hemingway.
Book Review: Didn't finish it Summary: 2 Stars
I took this on vacation and was looking forward to reading it. But I could only get about 1/2 way through. It was a little slow, with standard plot lines, nothing new here.
If I didn't have a couple of other books, I would probably have finished it, so who knows, maybe the 2nd half is better.
