Book Reviews of Strength Training Anatomy - 2nd Edition

Book Review: Great Illustrations on Muscles in Use.
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an absolutely great book. It exceeded my expectations, since it illustrates very clearly the muscles being used during a particular exercise. I am a pictures person, and find this extremely helpful. Must strength training books show the exercise/technique, but do not show the muscles working during a particular exercise. This book is very clear, well done, and enjoyable to use. I have taken it to the Gym when I strength train, and I find the easy to understand illustrations extremely helpful in targeting what muscles I want to work on that partucular training session. Buy it with confidence. The price is great too.

Book Review: Workout Enthusiast
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the workout bible! I've been working out for fifteen years and this is the most complete and amazingly illustrated weight lifting book I have ever come across. A variety of specific exercises for each muscle group is demonstrated with easy to follow instructions and detailed pictures. The primary muscle groups in each exercise are highlighted red and all muscle groups used in the exercise are labeled. The book is well organized and grouped by category as follows:
* Arms
* Shoulders
* Chest
* Back
* Legs
* Buttocks
* Abdomen
THE BEST WORKOUT BOOK EVER!

Book Review: Excellent source of Information
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this at Costco on a whim, because I weight train and it is really fantastic.

Explanations of what an excercise will do and what muscle groups are an excellent source of information, but I am a visiual learner and this product really shows you what each excercise does in the gym, so you can focus on a particular area more easily. It is not and encyclopedia but a great resource of information.

It has the info with the pictures to help and considering it is translated it is still fairly easy to understand.

For weight trainers this is a great resource!

Book Review: Some serious snatomy lessons here!
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a book I actually bought for my grandson who is into strength training and body building, but it was so interesting that I kept it for a week to bone up (sorry!) on my anatomy knowledge. I found it most helpful for figuring out what areas of my back I need to work on to prevent more back injury. My grandson has really enjoyed the book and is now using it to develop specific areas of his body. His personal trainer also thought it was a most helpful adjunct to strength training. It is technical, very detailed, and probably would not be of great interest to the casual gym-goer.

Book Review: Strength Training Anatomy
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a fabulous book for planning or modifying weight training workouts. It provides anatomical drawings of about 20 exercises for each body part, highlighting the primary muscles worked. The drawings are excellent, providing a clearer understanding of the muscles worked than either a photo or a verbal description. For each exercise, there is a concise description of how to perform it, as well as pictures of some variations, with explanations of their effect. As over-stress injuries are common, this book explains and pictures the most common injuries and explains how to treat them
