I listened to the audio version of the book and during the first few minutes I couldn't stop laughing as I was sure that his descriptions covered the majority of the hip, mostly 20 and 30 somethings I know and work with here in Portland, Oregon. But soon my smile faded as I realized that although I lean more conservative than left, this guy was counting down a disturbing number of my own trendy behaviors and preferences - I would like to point out however that I was into some of the stuff way before other people I know...

They love nothing better than sipping free-trade gourmet coffee, leafing through the Sunday New York Times, and listening to David Sedaris on NPR (ideally all at the same time).
