Book Reviews of SweetheartBook Review: good follow-up Summary: 4 Stars
first-time chelsea cain readers, be forewarned: her books are brutal. and graphic. but they are also engrossing and chilling descriptions of obsession and the mind of a malicious female serial killer. this book is nothing if not frightening so if you like that kind of thing, then be sure to pick this up. it's not quite up to snuff with "heartsick," the author's first book in this series, but it will more than do its part to give you nightmares at night.
Book Review: Another can't-put-it-down thriller Summary: 5 Stars
After "Heartsick," I couldn't wait for "Sweetheart" and Chelsea Cain does not disappoint. The only downside to this book is your heart is racing as you race through the story and when it's done, you're disappointed because you know it it will be a while before the next one. Fans of Tess Gerritsen will especially appreciate Chelsea Cain's ability to deliver a heart-stopping thriller filled with intricate twists and unexpected turns.
Book Review: Suspenseful is understated in this gripping tale..... Summary: 5 Stars
The dark side of Chelsea Cain (Author of Heartsick) takes you on another twisted ride in this book.Sweetheart brings back Archie to solve more gruesome murders as Gretchen Lowell continues to imprison Archie's every emotion. Very well written and grabs a hold of you right from the beginning and keeps you gripped until the very end.
READ IT, READ IT, READ IT
Book Review: Cain delivers again. . . Summary: 4 Stars
Sweetheart is an excellent follow-up to Cain's novel Heartsick. Chelsea Cain has intriguing characters that keep you turning the pages. The plot is suspenseful, very fast-paced. The ongoing relationship between Archie and Gretchen is disturbing yet interesting. With this novel, Cain proves that Heartsick was not a fluke. Her books are worth your time.
Book Review: Well-written, but too dark Summary: 3 Stars
I read Sweetheart because it was listed as one of last year's best thrillers. Though, well-written, the story was too dark, too evil for me. I loved Susan and her mother, Bliss. Now, despite what I said, I will go read "Heartsick." Wonderful that a writer has had so many comments. I wish her continued success in her writing endeavors!
