Book Review: Title says it all

This is a good book, I do wish it talked more about the other apps that come with or are available for free, and i would of liked to have seen more information on computer to calc interface, and programming. but all in all, the book assumes you know nothing about anything, and is good to get you started. The programing can come later(also, one might imagine that someone who is ready to program is not typically a "Dummy"). What is nice about this book though is that you dont have to read it front to back, you can jump around to find something that you are specifically looking for. the price at a book store or anywhere else is kinda high so amazon.com is probably the cheapest your gonna find it.Book Review: Unlocking the Power of the TI-89

"TI-89 ...For Dummies" has unlocked for me many useful features of this powerful calculator. The TI-89 is required for a sequence of classes I am taking. The TI supplied manual reads like some poor engineer was asked to spruce up the notes from designing the thing. But CC. Edwards presents essential features in a clear, fun, and readable manner. I wanted skills that would help me quickly perform needed operartions and understand how to get out of quirky modes that you can blunder into. Thanks, C.C., you did it! When you purchase a TI-89, you should be either directed to purchase the Dummies book for it, or it should be included with the device. More informative (and easier reading than the dry manual included) the Dummies book is excellent to assist you in the learning curve and get your money's worth out of the device.
My opinion is that the only dummies are those who do not make use of their Dummies books. Well written by knowledgable professionals who have a sense of humor.
Book Review: Great TI-89 starter book

It's great at showing how to do work with the most used Math-oriented functions and problems. It's also has *very* good chapters on Probability and Statistics which explain the most basic things in an easy to learn way (so easy that I was seamlessly doing my Probability homework on the *first* day I received my TI-89 calculator and this book!). Those looking for a hand at how to work with Physics with the TI, look elsewhere. I'd recommend it to any TI-89/92 user.Book Review: The manual that came with the calculator is better

I bought this book to help me use the calculator for school. I hoped it would provide straight forward instructions on how to do basic tasks such as finding the zero's on a graph or maybe the vertex. The answer is probably in there somewhere but it is not in plain site. This book may be useful for dummies who have the time to plow through it in its entirety to learn how to use the calculator, but it is not organized to show you how to do basic things quickly.
