Book Review: Want to Lower Your Cholesterol?
Summary: 5 Stars

As a personal chef, Waldorf teacher and alternative medicine advocate, I want to tell you how fabulous the 28-Day Cleanse has been for me. In the 4 weeks that I was on the cleanse, I lowered my combined cholesterol by 91 points! And I needed to, because it was so high. Scott Ohlgren's books are user-friendly; there are no "shoulds." His writing is easy to understand and sensible. I am now in my 4th week. My friends have been commenting on how good I look -- I'm in my 50s and have gained 20 pounds that have not wanted to leave me -- until I started Scott's cleanse. It sounds overwhelming to do a 28-day cleanse, but I'm telling you, it is easy, you eat all the good food you want; you can go 100 percent no dairy or animal flesh, or you can do the cleanse with some animal flesh, as you wish. Your choice. Juicing every day does take some time; you have to prepare with a game plan -- that is in the book. I did it with a friend and we bought cases of beets, carrots, lemons and apples. The recipes are delicious and easy to make. So if you are contemplating making a positive change in your health, as I did, give Scott's plan a try. It may become a way of life for you and you will feel stronger, more alive and will be ever so much kinder to your precious body.

Book Review: This book deserves an award!
Summary: 5 Stars

I eat mostly vegetarian and quite healthy but I wanted to do a cleanse and just "randomly" ordered this book after reading the reviews. I am in awe! While I was eating healty, I somehow had really neglected whole grains, and now that I am making oat groats and millet, I will never go back to refined stuff. I did not know what I missed. But more important than that, every single recipe I have tried is just amazingly good, and I have beocme acquainted with new delicious ingredients such as plum vinegar and virgin coconut oil for cooking (among others). I love this book, and can only highly recommend it to anyone, even those who think they don't need it. For people that eat a lot of processed food this will be a challenge at first but I encourage everyone to just do the 28 days and you and your body will change. I have been making recipes but I will formally start my 28 days this coming Monday - my challenge is the 'no-no" to all milk products. So, no more lattes and no more cheese but I am willing to do it to see how my body will react. Eating the whole grains already has changed how I feel - there I thought I knew so much yet I did not know some of simplest basics.

Book Review: A "must-have" guide to anyone seeking to make substantial dietary improvements to both look and feel better
Summary: 5 Stars

Part recipe collection, part nutrition and dietary planning guide, The 28 Day Cleansing Program: The Proven Recipe System For Skin And Digestive Repair is a spiral-bound guide to planning eating habits designed to help purge oneself of internal toxins and related ills. Over 12,000 people have completed the authors' highly affordable cleansing program, which does not involve any form of starvation. Though the authors are not doctors, they have recognized dead-on something that far too much of the medical, health care, and pharmaceutical industry all too readily ignores - that there is an overwhelming connection between what we eat and the harmful symptoms we suffer, from acne to irritable bowel syndrome to arthritis, high cholesterol and much more. The 28 Day Cleansing Program denounces modern over-reliance on processed foods and presents healthy, tasty alternative recipes that anyone can easily learn to make. Additional food preparation tips, such as soaking beans at length in water to make them more digestible, round out this "must-have" guide to anyone seeking to make substantial dietary improvements to both look and feel better.

Book Review: Sometimes complicated, but a very good cleanse!
Summary: 4 Stars

A friend recommended this book (and the cleanse) as a way to get back into control of my eating. I did the cleanse for the 28 days and very much appreciated the detail of the book, the recipes and the explanations of why it was actually cleansing my "insides". Some of the breakfast recipes I wasn't a big fan of, and some were a little complicated to make (I DO NOT know my way around a kitchen very well), but once I got the main ingredients (I used quinoa a lot) I found I really liked the way I felt.

The book provides easy-to-understand explanations of the process and the authors even indicate when it may be too strict a cleanse for some people. I gave up meat (including fish), dairy, gluten/wheat, caffeine, alcohol and sugar. The first 5 days I was a bitch and very tired, but after that I felt really good. I don't know that I will continue with this strict of a lifestyle choice for eating, but I did realize that sugar and wheat/gluten are not my friends and I can live without them.

I very much recommend getting this book and trying it out! The book is almost unavailable anywhere except online.

Book Review: You can have a better quality of life!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used the guidelines in this book to help me engage in practices and behaviors that I know intuitively are the key to improving all aspects of health. It sounds like a miracle cure when I think of all of the benefits derived from following this simple plan... and I guess it really is a miracle cure! I was diagnosed with a myriad of "stuff" a number of years ago including fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic myofascial pain syndrome, IBS and on and on.... I found great improvement within days of following the ideas in the book. Not only did all of the symptoms associated with my diagnoses decrease or go away completely, I found that I was thinking more clearly, my anxiety level had greatly diminished, my skin looked better, I slept better and on and on! Need I say more? Actually I will say more - don't be discouraged if the foods in the recipes are foreign to you. There are many ways that you can introduce whole foods into your lifestyle without going crazy or spedning all of your time in the kitchen. Check out [..] for more ideas. I am convinced that this can change your life!
