Book Reviews of The Anatomy Coloring Book

Book Review: Awesome Book for Reviewing Anatomy
Summary: 5 Stars

This book has been a better review tool than I ever thought it would be. At first I felt silly coloring in a coloring book, but I've found this coloring book to very informative. For example, coloring in the bones of the skull really helped me to see how the bones fit together and see where each bone is.

The pictures are very detailed, and most of the bony landmarks that I needed to know for my college anatomy class were shown in the pictures. There are suggestions for coloring the pictures to help maximize the effectiveness of studying from the picture. I also like the information given along with each picture. It is a mixture of information on the the anatomical structure and information on clinical considerations for that picture. While I wouldn't suggest trying to learn everything for your anatomy class from this book, it is a great review tool, and I would highly recommend this coloring book.

Book Review: Great supplement for any anatomy course
Summary: 4 Stars

I am using this book as a study tool for my Gross Anatomy course. Anyone who has taken an anatomy class can tell you that color-coding structures is one of the most helpful ways to remember them. There are drawings of bones, muscles, joints, organ systems and explanations of virtually everything that could possibly be covered in an anatomy class. The drawings are excellent and most of the features of the bones are labelled as well. This was very helpful to me since I had to memorize virtually every tubercle, ridge, groove, or other protuberance on every bone of the body. When I had trouble with the skull because the drawings in my class notes were horrible, the drawings in this book were much clearer and helped out a lot. If you are taking an anatomy class, this is a smart and relatively inexpensive investment that will help you remember everything better.

Book Review: Anatomy Got you Stumped?: Get THIS book!
Summary: 4 Stars

I typically learn by picking my favorite piece of something and learning the rest around that piece. Needless to say, it didn't work in anatomy memorization! There really isn't a favorite part of learning the nooks and crannies of anatomy and in most books, it all blends in. So, when I came across this lovely `A+' getter I was thrilled! It has detailed info and color ready pages on everything from cells to protuberances, diagrams and joints as well clear explanations. Just a certified HELP in an anatomy class, PERIOD!

For any healthcare provider, it's always a great idea to brush up on client relation and reading the body and for this I recommend The Magic Touch: How to make $100,000 per year as a massage Therapist by Meagan R. Holub. This text is so reader friendly and really gets into client relations in chapters 3 and 4. Love it!

Book Review: shipment great--pack job not~
Summary: 5 Stars

SHIPMENT WAS DELAYED A BIT, BUT WITHIN PROMISED TIME. MY ONLY ISSUE IS THE PACKING. A ONE INCH THICK BOOK AND MUSIC CD WERE SHIPPED IN A 4" BOX.
BOX WAS CAVED IN LIKE IT WAS STEPPED ON. CONTENTS OK. I WISH IT WAS SENT REGULAR MAIL IN A THINNER BOX. SINCE I LIVE IN AN APARTMENT THAT WON'T SIGN FOR PACKAGES DUE TO A LAWSUIT FROM ANOTHER TENANT--I HAVE HUGE HASSLES WITH UPS! THEIR POLICY AT UPS IS THAT ALL PACKAGES MUST BE SIGNED FOR. I HAVE TO GET MISSED DELIVERY NOTICE TO KNOW WHEN IT'S IN TOWN(PACKAGE FROM AMAZON) THEN LEAVE SCHOOL EARLY AND WAIT FOR RE-DEIVERY. THIS IS A MAJOR HASSLE--I AM BACK TO SCHOOL FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 25 YEARS. I CAN'T AFFORD TO MISS CLASS FOR AN AMAZON PACKAGE. I WON'T ORDER ANYTHING ANYMORE FROM AMAZON REQUIRING UPS SHIPMENT BECAUSE OF THE UNNECCESSARY

Book Review: Use this book to learn anatomy through both physical and visual approaches
Summary: 5 Stars

The reviewer who found this book "torturously time consuming" [sic] is missing the point. It's *designed* for you to go slowly and thereby learn, both visually and physically, all of the body's various systems. I do wish some of the plates were larger, as the detail would be easier to see and the labels clearer. However, I'll take accuracy over size any day, and this edition has been carefully edited and proofed. There's also a glossary, which I think is great since I'm using the book for my own enrichment and not as part of a class.

I've been working through the pages with colored pencils and having a blast; pencils also ensure that you can see the detail clearly after coloring as well as allow you to add a little more depth (if you're got any artistic bent whatsoever). What a fun way to learn how the body works!!
