Book Reviews of The BFG

Book Review: The BFG
Summary: 4 Stars

Roald Dahl is the author of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Matilda," and "The Witches" and other children's classics. The BFG is about a girl who lives at an orphanage named Sophie. When Sophie sees a giant, when she shouldn't have, the giant has no other choice but to snatch her. But the giant isn't like the other giants. Good thing or otherwise he might have eaten Sophie after taking her from the orphanage. In the giant's world, things are very different for Sophie. After she learns about the other giants who do eat people, she creates a plan to save the world from them with the BFG's help of course.

Book Review: Marvelous!
Summary: 5 Stars

Roald Dahl is truly a master of children's literature. I loved the BFG when I first read it at the age of nine, and ten years later it still holds remarkable appeal. Dahl's quirky tales create the perfect escape from daily life into an unforgettable world that is equally capivating and fun. The adventures of the Big Friendly Giant and Sophie will always recreate the carefree spirit of childhood in me.

Book Review: Gotta love the BFG
Summary: 5 Stars

We first read the BFG 15 years ago when my oldest was small. We lost the original copy in a flood years ago. We just replaced it and reread it. It's like watching Monty Python; once you read it you never talk quite the same way again. The Big Friendly Giant does good and always puts the needs of others first. Uncommon virtues today. So watch for whizzpoppers and enjoy.
