Book Review: Typos and omissions galore

First, I am not a bartender. I purchased this for its collection of recipes for in home use. If I forget what is in a Grasshopper, bam, I can quickly look it up. But for those who are thirsty and don't know what they want/don't know the name of the drink, well, this is not the ideal guide. You have to go to a main booze category like 'vodka' and then look up each drink based on guessing what you think may be the additional ingredients. Once you find it, alphabetically, it will only be then that you can determine if you have everything necessary. It's not fair to give a poor review based on asking this book to be something it was not intended to be. However, the index includes oodles of drinks that are completely missing. So If you're in the whisky section and see 'Quebec' listed and are curious what that is, you turn to the Q page and it's nowhere to be found. Many lesser known drinks seem to have vanished from the recipe section. What is the point of including the name in the index if you end up just having to Google it? The husband and I, in just 20 minutes of drink hunting, found 5 drinks in one section alone that had been omitted from the recipes. So for bartenders just starting out who don't know a Manhattan from a Brass Monkey, I imagine this is helpful as a quick reference. But for those who are looking for drink ideas that venture beyond the common, eh not so much. Perhaps other editions do not feature so many (what I assume are) accidential ommisions. I would hope professional bartenders wishing to please a customer's exotic drink order would turn elsewhere.
