Book Reviews of The Beatles Complete Chord Songbook

Book Review: The binding
Summary: 4 Stars

Excellent Content
In this book: A great selection of songs "Chorded" out for easy use. A chord chart precedes each song for a quick reference and a discography is in the back to clear up who wrote what and on which album.

The Binding
A songbook this thick should be spiral bound. It won't stay open unless it's creased, hurting the glue binding. I think it will last for a while before pages come loose, it's not cheap, but paperback books don't wear abuse well.

Conclusion
I'd give this 5 stars for the content, not tablature, no notes or solos, but an easy to read chord book. I subtracted one star for the binding.

It's easy to read, but not easy to use, at least not until it's broken in proper.

Book Review: The Beatle Fan
Summary: 5 Stars

I've loved the beatles since the first time I heard them over my step fathers tapes. So I went searching on ebay, in different stores, and then someone told me about amazon and thats where I found this purfect book. Since I love playing guitar this book has made it more fun, because I get to learn songs from people I've never met but would love to meet one day. The beatles are inspiring and just filled with life even though the beatles are no longer a complete set like they used to be. Now I play the beatles songs and have fun doing it. I've even shocked my step father who learned guitar way before me on how well and how quickly I've learned the songs. This book was amazing and I will defintly keep it for a long time and continue to enjoy it.

Book Review: Great Compilation...even for a beginner.
Summary: 4 Stars

This book has tons of Beatles songs. The songs are listed alphabetically, on each page you will find the lyrics, chords, and chord diagrams for each song. Its easy to use. I am a beginner and I think their songs range from easy to pretty difficult. This book has definitely exposed me to more unusual chords I haven't worked with before...some very easy. Its actually helping me to improve my guitar playing. I would suggest this book for anyone that enjoys the Beatles and playing the guitar.
One negative thing I did notice is that there are so many songs, unfortunately many I have never even heard, so this book may be overkill for people like me that have only listened to about 8 of their albums focusing mostly on their greatest hits.

Book Review: Two pages shy of being truly complete.
Summary: 4 Stars

This book is a bare-bones chord structure guide to the songs written and performed by the Beatles in the 1950s and 1960s. It gives no real illustrations as to the exact fingerings used by the Beatles on their records. Titles include official discography rejects like That Means A Lot, You Know What To Do, and You'll Be Mine (all of which made appearances on the Anthology), but, inexplicably, do not include the 1970s Lennon demos-made-Beatles-singles Real Love and Free As A Bird. Seeing as the latter two songs were released as singles and thus should count more as Beatles canon than early-era testbed dross like In Spite Of All The Danger (recorded and released purely by incident), this book is, in my book, somewhat less than complete.

Book Review: love the Beatles, and I love this book
Summary: 5 Stars

if you love the Beatles, you'll love this songbook.
I'm a beginner at guitar but I had no trouble learning a few songs within the first week I received this book.
It has a nice range of very hard songs and easy songs, and I like how it is written in chord format rather than guitar tab format (tablature is much harder than learning chords, in my opinion). It would be hard to get bored with this, as you can customize the songs and learn fingerpickings as you increase your guitar skills. Pretty much anyone can pick up this book and already be learning Beatles songs.
Here's some songs that are my favorites and are fairly easy:
I Want to Hold Your Hand
She Loves You (Yeah Yeah Yeah)
Eleanor Rigby
