Book Reviews of The Beatles Complete Chord Songbook

Book Review: do not buy if you want to learn Beatles music
Summary: 1 Stars

I have been playing guitar for thirty years and Beatles music is what I started with. This book is the worst I have ever seen. It took a month to get and when I did I went trough the book playing most of the songs I already know, the chords seemed off. The author does warn you of this saying the Beatles sometimes play tune down a semitone or below concert pitch and if you want to play along with the record tune your guitar higher. It would have been nice to know where/which songs to do that.

The format of the book is for reading only. You will find yourself using 10 lb weights to hold the book open while you try to play along. Beginners stay away.

Book Review: Incredible Book - Buy It!
Summary: 5 Stars

Ive played guitar for many years. Ive seen alot of incorrect Beatles tab. I even have the Beatles Complete Scores book which also is incredible. But this book is the best if you want to sit down and simply play and sing any Beatles song. Its a nice size and uses the correct keys and chords. Nothing is lowered or raised like U see in most tab books. This is the real deal and a must for anyone looking to play guitar to the worlds greatest songwriters and bands of all time. Keep the music alive people! I wish they had a book like this for solo Lennon and McCartney material. If anybody knows of one, please email me and let me know about it.

Book Review: excellent, accurate, marvelous
Summary: 5 Stars

Im really glad with this buy. It has the perfect chords, i.e., different positions for the same chord in the same song, but it sounds different, just as the original song. Anyway, if that's difficult for you, you just can play the chords on their base position.

I havent yet found any errors on the book. It even includes some very strange songs I never heard of. Not even in singles.
This book is a must buy for beatles fans... I formerly was downloading tabs and chord files from the internet, but they are all so-so versions. This one has the right versions, no doubts, it is just perfect. Save yourself time and get this book.

Book Review: Till there was you missing
Summary: 4 Stars

I just bought the kindle version of this book.
Somehow, I noticed that one of the Beatles song 'Till There Was You' is not there.
The book's title has the word 'Complete' so I'm assuming that all the Beatle song is there.
Anyone noticed this and/or any other song missing?
One other thing, I noticed that the index is somewhat not consistent in format.
It's a minor thing but it should be easily fixable from the publisher.
I'm not trying to complain too much for a ~$14 purchase.
I'm simply just trying to point out some of the quirks and am hoping that they will be fixed thru an update.

Book Review: The best out there?
Summary: 4 Stars

On the face of it, what more could you want? Every single Beatles song is represented -- even the relatively obscure "You Know My Name (Look up the Number)." (No Revolution #9, for obvious reasons!)

WARNING:
- Remember that this is a CHORD book. This book is NOT intended give you tablature of guitar licks

CONS and NITPICKS:
- A spiral-bound version would be useful, since the binding isn't very friendly for on-the-fly playing. Docked a star for this reason.
- There's one glitch in the alphabetical ordering of the songs: "I am the Walrus" is before "Here Comes the Sun" for some reason.
