Book Reviews of The Beatles Complete Chord SongbookBook Review: I heard myself playing real Beatles!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not a professional, and I can't read music. I'm not a great guitarist, either-although I'm a big Beatles fan. But this was the first time I could finally find the right chords for "Help!", "Eleanor Rigby", "Come Together" and many other so-loved hits. I could never imagine that I'd hear my own hands playing "Because" or even "Helter Skelter".. It's simple and accurate at the same time. And - the most important of all - it's an easy music book for amateurs, but it's exactly what the title says: the complete Beatles songbook...
Thanks a lot!
P.S. Sorry for my poor English, but I'm just a Greek lady...
Book Review: Entire Beatles with chords and lyrics. Summary: 5 Stars
Exactly what I expected. I'm a bit of a returning novice and the songs that I recognise, well it helps my working on chord changes and developing the proper strum rhythm and sound, because I know what I think it oughta sound like. Sound great on my electric and most even better on my acoustic. I consider it a beginner bit and fun book. Aside from some Christian rock, some country, some classic rock, and a bit of what I play around with on my own, I spend about 60% of my time trying to move from among the chords in these songs. Quite worth whatever I paid for it and shipped and received promptly.
Book Review: Great resource... for the guitar. Summary: 4 Stars
The book is fine as a resource, but it has been assembled under the assumption that the songs will be played on a guitar; the transcriptions account for The Beatles' capo'ing their guitars during the songs' recordings, and so present the chords relative to the capo, rather than presenting the originally-recorded chords. For guitarists, this is certainly a useful shortcut, but if you play (as I do) on a ukulele, and want to play the originally-recorded chords, you're forced to re-transpose, noting the number of frets the guitar has been capo'd and transposing each chord down accordingly.
Book Review: Excellent book Summary: 5 Stars
I have had the "Beatles Complete" songbook for 10 or so years and was happy with it, but I have thrown it out now !
The two things I like most about this book are they appear to be in the correct key... and the passing chords are fantastic !
Songs like
"Cry Baby Cry" Em Em(maj7) Em7 Em6 C7 G
"Benifit Of Mr Kite" Dm Dm(maj7) Dm7 Dm6 A A
"Norwegian Wood" D Cadd9 G/B D
"Here Comes The Sun" Bmadd11 Asus4 G6 Asus4 A7 D AI could go on and on the songs are endless.
Happy ?
You BET !!
Book Review: And Your Bird Can Sing Along With the Beatles! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the book Beatle musicians have long prayed for. This is the best resource and a far better tool than looking up chords online. The book provides the original keys and makes each song recognizable when you start to play it. The book has done a real service in providing the correct form for the chords in each song.
This book will undoubtedly delight Beatle fans and will certainly draw in people who are just becoming familiar with their works. You will learn the chords and will soon be happily singing along as you play Beatle songs!
