Book Review: Great book to get your diet going!
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this book in the bargain bin at my local book store. It had great advice about losing weight. I used it to write down what I ate each day mostly and keep track of my weight watchers points plus my work out time. It's a good book for keeping track of what you are doing to lose weight but for me whose been trying to lose weight here and there, it's a great place to keep track. Won't make you thin at all but you can write down what you eat and who you exercise so that should help. Also I don't know if this guy even is with Oprah anymore. She moves on so fast with diet people and her weight lose I lose track. Orphan just needs to eat less GIRL!!!

The journal is not nearly indepth enough to do you any favors as far as tracking your progress. Wish I had known that before I purchased. What is should contain is spaces for information to go along with the book, like your answers to the very important question about "Why do you want to lose weight", which Mr. Green stresses is just as important as the number of calories or food types one consumes per day..... A weekly journal is not for one just starting the program. Until you have changed your eating habits, a daily journal would give you a better handle on progress and habit changes needed to be successful.

In the process of reading and I find the concetps to be straight forward and hopefully easy to follow. Baby steps starts your journey and focus on not overdoing things, you slowly adapt and then are able to move on to then next step. So many of us just dive into our diet and the key it to change things is a slow way so your not overwhelmed and sick of the "Diet", this is more a lifestyle change with a bonus of a smaller body frame. Yippee!!!! I'm still one of those that wish there was a pill instead, let you know if I find that miracle. Good luck.

I love this journal. It is great once you read the Best Life Diet book. I like that the left side offers an easy checklist of things you need to do and the right side is a notes page where you can write your own thoughts or what you ate or whatever. I wish he had three different journals for each phase. there are things you explore in each phase and when this one runs out, I would rather have an entire journal just for Phase II. Probably a bit picky of me, I guess, but hey, journaling is becoming a food replacement for me so it's important.

Bob Greene is sharing his knowledge with us, while making the process to change our life plan much easier. By having this Daily Journal, we can track what our feelings are. We can also find out what our reason/s are for overeating. Love the fact that we can now know which products are good for us in the stores, by looking for his Best Life symbol.
