Book Reviews of The Birds in My LifeBook Review: Man, I really wish this WAS a joke... Summary: 1 Stars
When my sister first handed me this book, I thought it was another parody book, and after reading one poem, I was convinced it was.
However, as my sister explained, and I continued reading, I realized the sad truth that this book is just a collection of poorly (very strong emphasis on "poorly") photographed and often photoshopped pictures of this "Master's" birds. My sister got it for me naturally for the humor in it.
Its pretty clear that most, if not all, of the 96 5* reviews are by the same person.
As for the author, the book would be so terrible if she wasn't so full of herself. Her idea is clear, she wants to bring enlightenment through belief in god, and closeness to animals. However, she presents herself as being so enlightened and perfect, that she actually alludes to herself as being unto god. Now, I'm very not religious, but I'm pretty sure you're never supposed to do that.
Furthermore, even though she's the only credited writer, never is she referred to from the first person. She is only "The Master."

Book Review: A celebration of life! Summary: 5 Stars
I have always enjoyed watching birds in nature, they seem so free and innocent, exuding a ligthness of being that can only be envied by earthly bound human beings! But I really had no idea that such delicate and exquisite little beings could be so personal and full of wisdom. The Birds in my life, is an intimate portrait into their world, a more simple world of love, celebration, playfulness, loyalty and trust. The author definitely can hear their spirit, she speaks the universal language of love that knows no boundary and the birds totally get it. Maybe this is the only reason why we are here on earth, to love and bless each other. Looks so simple! Leave it to humans to make things complicated! The beautiful photos capture the amazing presence of these noble beings, they invite us to put our busyness aside for a moment and reconnect with our innate sense of wonder. I will never look at birds the same way. Thank you for opening my eyes and my heart to the world of our feathered friends.

Book Review: 2 Little and 2 Big Thumbs UP! Summary: 5 Stars
Wow! This book appeals to the illiterate and literate alike! My 2-yr old will actually sit down and flip through the pages of this book saying, "I like this, I like this, I like this" as he points to the colorful pictures. I love the poems; the simple verses are embedded with invaluable lessons of life and love. You will never look at another bird (or mole, or squirrel) quite the same after reading this book. It awakens you to the realization that these creatures are not just "living things", they are more like "little people" with feelings of boredom, thankfulness, and can be heart-broken if separated from a loved one. More strikingly, the birds are capable to love and of a love seemingly greater than human love, so the author hints. (Thus, the joy of pets?) This book will undoubtedly be popular with all age groups, a jewel on any table for it pleases the eyes, fills the heart, and somehow comforts the spirit!
