Book Review: Great Christian book on adolescence

The cover on the book I received from Amazon is different than what is pictured, but it's the same book. I bought this book for my 11 year old, and I think it's great. Every chapter begins with a relevant verse of scripture, has a "how is this a God thing" section, "Talking to God about it", and "Lily pad" to journal. The talking to God section has fill in the blank questions that will help your tween verbalize what she may be feeling. An example of the Talking to God section is: "For one thing, I'm embarrassed about ....Will you help me not be too embarrassed or scared to ask _______ for help".
The only mention of sex I found in the book was, "If the egg became fertilized by a guy's sperm-meaning the sperm would meet the egg and break through the egg's outer shell-you'd be pregnant." (p28) There is nothing that tells how the sperm gets there. If you object to that sentence, simply cross it out with a black marker. It would be a shame to miss a book of this quality for one sentence. Most schools do a family life unit in 4th grade that tells the same information, so this probably won't be a new concept for most kids 9-11. (Much to our chagrin, we found out a 9 year old girl was running around the 3rd grade playground telling the kids about sex, so unless your child never sees other kids...it's very possible they have already heard some version of sex, even when we try to shield them.)
We do have the American Girl Care and Keeping of you book as well, and it's very good, but this brings God into the picture for girls being raised in a Christian home. I highly recommend this book.
