Book Reviews of The Bone Garden: A Novel

Book Review: Sleepless Night
Summary: 5 Stars

I absolutely loved this book. My Aunt actually received it in the mail via her book club. Since she did not have a taste for a books like it, I decided to take it. While taking my chemo treatment one day, I cracked open the book and found it impossible to put it down.

I spent the entire day reading page after page until finally, around 4am, I finished.

It's a great read and I highly recommend it!

Book Review: Outstanding Book!
Summary: 5 Stars

This was one of the best books I have read. Made me feel as if I were right there with the characters. I didn't have this one figured out until the very end which didn't take long because I could not put it down. BRAVO to Tess Garritsen, looking forward to reading more of her books... S.L. Book Review: Review for Bone Garden
Summary: 3 Stars

This was an okay book, but not great. The story line was interesting, but it just went on longer than needed. Basically the last 100 pages are the best in the book that seems never to end. If the book had focused on Julie's storyline or just Rose's story line it would have been a better book, but it was as if the author did not have enough time to really capture the lives of both of these characters.

Book Review: Disappointed by a usually thrilling voice
Summary: 2 Stars

The Bone Garden was just okay. I got through it in about three days, but I've read Tess Gerrittsen books in--literally--less than 24 hours. Saying that to say: it was a slower read for me. I don't think the connection to present and past was as strong as it could have been made. The storyline was exciting enough, but on the pages, it came out dry and mechanical. Likable, but not great.

Book Review: Absolutely loved it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've read all of Gerritsen's previous books, and this one is probably my favorite. The characters were so vivid, and the information on medicine in the 1830s was fascinating. This was a nice change from the Rizzoli/Isles series. I hope Gerritsen will write more books like this, with a historical angle. Rose Connelly is one of those literary characters that you will not soon forget.
