Book Reviews of The Brass Verdict (Harry Bosch, Book 14)

Book Review: A great, quick read
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been a fan of Connelly's novels since reading The Lincoln Lawyer a few years back. I work in this industry (law enforcement/courts) and unlike so many authors in this area, he's spot on in his depictions of investigation and courtroom proceedings.

I dug this book out of a carry-on bag while I was in Munich, Germany on my way back to Los Angeles. Let me put it this way: international travel would be a lot easier if there were more books like The Brass Verdict. Never has a trip from Munich to Los Angeles (with a brief layover in Chicago) passed so quickly. A great read, a terrific page turner. I was totally engrossed in the characters, and as usual I found Haller an amazingly well developed character.

Good to know my faith in an enjoyable yarn like this is well placed - I find myself hoping Connelly lives a long and fruitful life so that I can buy more books like this one. I know, I know, it may not be Dickens, but sometimes it's nice to have a book that you can't put down.

Book Review: Offers interesting insights into a lawyer's mind
Summary: 5 Stars

If you've read Michael Connelly's other mystery books, you'll understand the characters from previous novels. This is the first Michael Connelly book I've read and it didn't matter that I did not know the characters from his other books.

You'll immediately think of the O.J. trial in LA. The opening line on page 3 is the book's theme: "Everybody lies. Cops lie. Lawyers lie. Witnesses lie. The victims lie. The trial is a contest of lies." The book offers interesting insights into a lawyer's mind. The Brass Verdict has an easy writing style and is fun at the end when all the characters in the plot merge.

Book Review: Sharp.
Summary: 5 Stars

How amazing is Michael Connelly? Time and time again he comes up with amazing stuff. Like the other author I love Lee Child. Consistent solid engaging and SHARP every time. How do these guys do it? Are they genius level? Do they eat healthy and exercise? Although I think Lee Child smokes. Looks like he does from his website anyway. Connelly doesn't look like a smoker, but he was a journalist and the stress of that job might have led him to smoking. Hmmm.

Book Review: Another Connelly Winner!
Summary: 4 Stars

Mickey Haller is back, this time representing a media mogul who's been charged with the double murder of this wife and her lover. Again, as in The Lincoln Lawyer, there's tight plotting and a satisfying finish. Connelly is a great and highly accessible writer. Just an easy, quick and enjoyable read. Now moving onto "The Reversal" and eagerly awaiting the release of "The Fifth Witness".

Book Review: SECOND MICKEY HALLER BOOK
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the second book in the Mickey Haller series and its another good one. For me know one is any better than Michael Connelly, whether it is Mickey Haller or Harry Bosch the stories are great. In this book you get both. A must read for Connelly fans. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
